It's time to decide this forum's fate. - Weltall - 4th May 2003

Alright, since it was decided that the topic of the forum should change, it's time for you guys to decide on what the new topic should be.

So let's get them thinking caps on and start leaking ideas into big gooey puddles!

How about...

Actually, I can't think of a single thing that would actually result in a commonly posted in new forum... Hmm...

How about making this the "current flavor of the month" forum? Perhaps every time a super intense "everyone is talking about it" game is released, the forum name is changed to reflect that new game, and all topics concerning that specific game will go here? We did it for Animal Crossing, and wow did that get a lot of posts. We could even expand it beyond that, making whatever is the latest buzz about anything the forum subject. To be honest, this is the only way I think this forum could get a lot of posts.

That sounds good.

It's time to decide this forum's fate. - WhiteFleck - 5th May 2003

Sounds good to me, as well.

uh-oh, we're agreeing on things again.

uh... DJ sucks!

*whew!*

We've got so many damn games, conmpetitions, and etc that maybe we should make a forum just for those.

Or not.

That I do *drains the cream out of 20 twinkies*, and it tastes good.

We could make this the forum for Classic Gaming Competions, but it could be set up where anyone can start a thread for a particular game.

Or this could be our Retro Games forum.

Sorry... but we had that once. It was called the Emulation Forum, and no one ever visited except me and ABF.

It's time to decide this forum's fate. - A Black Falcon - 8th May 2003

... so anytime soon Weltall?

It's time to decide this forum's fate. - Weltall - 8th May 2003

Well, out of this, only two plausible ideas came. So we'll vote on those.

It's time to decide this forum's fate. - OB1 - 2nd September 2004

You know, I'm replying to all of these ancient threads because I see guests viewing them for some odd reason, but with this one a guest was actually reporting it. What the fuck indeed.

It's time to decide this forum's fate. - A Black Falcon - 3rd September 2004

Huh? Reporting? What's that do?

It's time to decide this forum's fate. - OB1 - 3rd September 2004

Beats me!

It's time to decide this forum's fate. - Great Rumbler - 3rd September 2004

Most of the "guests" at TC aren't actual people, a lot of them are search engine spiders [files that attache themselves to sites and send data back to search engines] and there's probably some other junk there too.

It's time to decide this forum's fate. - OB1 - 3rd September 2004

Yeah I know.

This topic is closed, yet we're replying to it. Woo! Yay for quick reply!

It's time to decide this forum's fate. - Great Rumbler - 3rd September 2004

Yeah, quick-reply is the most amazing invention since air-cooled socks.

I think reporting a post sends a message to the moderator about the post. It's supposed to be for reporting a post that breaks the forum rules or somthing of that nature.

I don't really visit this forum at all, even though it's the only place where I have mod powers, I'm only posting in this thread because it's locked.

It's time to decide this forum's fate. - Great Rumbler - 3rd September 2004

I can post in any locked thread I want, no matter what forum it's in. Ha! Carrot

It's time to decide this forum's fate. - OB1 - 3rd September 2004

I wish I could do that!

It's time to decide this forum's fate. - Great Rumbler - 3rd September 2004

...You can.

It's time to decide this forum's fate. - Dark Lord Neo - 3rd September 2004

I bet I could make myself and admin,
but then I'd get banned, and I don't think I'd like that

It's time to decide this forum's fate. - Dark Jaguar - 3rd September 2004

Nope, you can't. That's a rather obvious security thing. Any power level does not have the proper authority to change themselves into the next level.

Mods are lower than admins.

Thus, a mod can never become an admin unless an admin does it to them.

Oh, the "super admin" is Weltall, who's power level is undominatable. Unless... well I could create an infinite stream of corrupted data flooding the entire system...

It's time to decide this forum's fate. - A Black Falcon - 4th September 2004

Yeah, you can't make yourself an admin. Only admins can make people admins. At least I think admins can... Weltall can for sure, but he's not just a normal admin. :)

That's a good question actually... can admins make people admins or mods (I think admins can make mods.), or can only Weltall the super-admin?

Oh, and DLN, if you're a mod here you're supposed to visit the forum sometimes to moderate! :)

... oh wait, we don't use this "moderate" thing here, sorry...

It's time to decide this forum's fate. - Great Rumbler - 4th September 2004

"Moderate"? This word is foreign to me...

It's time to decide this forum's fate. - Dark Lord Neo - 4th September 2004

I didn't say I could do it with my account, that's why it would result in me possibly getting banned, if it was somthing I could do myself there'd be nothing wrong with it. But doing it would betray someone's trust, and I'm not going to do it.
