Freaky Flyers - Laser Link - 2nd May 2003

This is probably the only third party GameCube game I've ever been excited about. I'm a sucker for arcadey/kart racing, especially when it involves flying like DKR. It even has multiplayer dogfights, which could rock if done right. This looks like it could be just what I've been waiting for, but we'll see if it turns out as good as they say it is. And it also depends on when Mario Kart comes out, because there really is only one Kart King.

Freaky Flyers - OB1 - 2nd May 2003

Crash Nitro should also be good. Crash Team Racing for the PSX was a complete and total rip-off of Mario Kart 64 and DKR, but it was a good rip-off.

Freaky Flyers - A Black Falcon - 2nd May 2003

Wait, wait... did OB1 just insinuate that a Midway racing game might be decent? What an absurd idea..

Funny that it took a airplane-kart game...

As for me, it looks alright, but not great. Certainly nowhere NEAR a decent replacement for Rush 4 (MAKE IT MIDWAY!).

Freaky Flyers - OB1 - 2nd May 2003

Crash as in Crash Bandicoot, ABF. They're making a new Crash racing game for all three consoles.

Freaky Flyers - A Black Falcon - 2nd May 2003

I wasn't talking about Crash racing...

Quote: Crash Nitro should also be good. C

That implies that Freaky Fliers well might be good. And guess who's making it.

Freaky Flyers - OB1 - 2nd May 2003

I know nothing about Freaky Flyers; I was just adding to what LL said. And I never said that Midway doesn't make good racers. They made Hydro Thunder and Rush 2049 which were pretty good, but those are the only two games I can think of.

Freaky Flyers - A Black Falcon - 2nd May 2003

Hydro Thunder and Rush 2049 are their best racers, but I also like the other two Rush games (especially Rush 2) and (though somewhat less than those other games) the Cruis'n games... and published the great racer Wipeout 64.

Freaky Flyers - OB1 - 2nd May 2003

Who cares if they published WO64. They had nothing to do with the game's development.

The Cruisin' games are complete crap, and have you ever even played Rush 1?

Freaky Flyers - A Black Falcon - 2nd May 2003

A little... its not THAT much worse than 2. 2 is better for sure, but its not as dramatic as you seem to think... its just lacking in graphics and number of tracks and extra features. The racing itsself is okay...

Oh, Freaky Fliers info.

Freaky Flyers - OB1 - 2nd May 2003

The handling of the cars is very dramatic. In Rush 1 they controlled like huge barges.

Freaky Flyers - A Black Falcon - 2nd May 2003

Oh come on... its not THAT bad...

Freaky Flyers - OB1 - 2nd May 2003

I am dead serious. Try playing the game again and see how easy it is to take a 90 degree turn.

Freaky Flyers - A Black Falcon - 2nd May 2003

I'll see.

On another note... I didn't mean it when I said it in IM a while ago (I just meant that they were changing the focus to a new area...), but look what turned up!

Freaky Flyers - OB1 - 2nd May 2003

Woohoo!

Freaky Flyers - A Black Falcon - 2nd May 2003

I only hope this means that awful song will be gone...

Freaky Flyers - OB1 - 2nd May 2003

I assume that will be the case since that was the only thing wrong with it.
