Tron 2: Electric Boogalooo - A Black Falcon - 27th September 2010

It's awesome they're making another Tron movie after so long, and that trailer at least looks great... definitely looking forward to it.

Tron 2: Electric Boogalooo - Dark Jaguar - 28th September 2010

Am I the only one who thinks that it looks like the movie is taking itself way too seriously? I mean Tron was basically just a kid's adventure flick about someone who gets stuck in a video game world. The entire premise is a joke in itself, but it's good because the movie just tries to have fun with it. This though? It seems like they're trying to make a movie about a beam that lets people literally talk to computer programs "dark and gritty", and if it's what it seems in the trailor, I just don't see that working too well.

If they were really taking it too seriously, it would probably have a PG-13 rating.

Tron 2: Electric Boogalooo - Dark Jaguar - 28th September 2010

The taking it too seriously thing doesn't necessarily mean it'll have blood and guts. People still die in sparkly disintegration, so I don't think rating would be an issue no matter how much of the cast was dead by the end of it all. It's not that I think it's certainly going to happen, but considering the light the previews paint the movie in, I think it's a legitimate concern.

I mean look at that, everyone's talking in the same hushed tones that ALL actors in "serious somber" scenes feel the need to talk with these days. Who talks like that?

Tron 2: Electric Boogalooo - Sacred Jellybean - 29th September 2010

Deej has a fair point, though I'd say that "serious somber" can be excusable in a movie, regardless of whether it occurs in real life.

The trailer makes it a little bland. It was a charming, simple 80s movie that was fun and had religious subtext out the ass, but the new one makes its modern approach look bland. I'll reserve judgment until I see it (might skip it in the theatres unless I have a date that wants to see it), but I'm a bit pessimistic.

If anything, it makes me want to watch the original.

Looks amazing, soundtrack is amazing, action will probably be amazing. I'm not really sure what's not to be excited about there...

Tron 2: Electric Boogalooo - Dark Jaguar - 29th September 2010

I can get action in a video game, I tend to want lovable characters to go along with it if I'm in a passive story. I hope this does live up to expectations, but I am wary, that's all.

Tron 2: Electric Boogalooo - Great Rumbler - 17th December 2010

Just got back from seeing Tron Legacy and it was awesome. Best movie I've seen this year, better than Inception and Toy Story 3. No, I'm not kidding, but I'm also a huge Tron fan so perhaps you should take my enthusiasm with a grain of salt.

Tron 2: Electric Boogalooo - Great Rumbler - 17th December 2010

I really liked the 3D, thought it added a layer of depth that most 3D movies completely ignore. Best 3D I've seen since Avatar.

And it was something that did from the start, they didn't just tack it on at the end.

Tron 2: Electric Boogalooo - Sacred Jellybean - 17th December 2010

It's good to hear that it wasn't added in post-production. It certainly wasn't as bad as some I saw in the trailers. Maybe I'm just not a fan of 3D in general.

Ya, I wondered what was going on there.
