... And here's an example of why the actual Mario games will never get anywhere near that:

... But yeah, they really have overdone the "Rescue the Princess" plot, that's for sure. Nintendo really needs to stop using it. Come up with something better... I know Nintendo (and Miyamoto in particular) hate stories in games, but still... come up with something, anything, better than that!
