Today, via a promotional advertisement for the deal, the company may have inadvertently unveiled which titles would be included on the disc, and it looks to be a strong lineup.
Playables on the disc, according to the promo:

Splinter Cell
Viewtiful Joe
Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg
Sonic Adventure DX
IGNcube has also learned that a playable of the US Soul Calibur II will be on the disc.

There could be more playable titles on the disc in addition to these, and though Nintendo hasn't confirmed it, there will likely be a handful of video previews too.

The demo disc will be free of charge.

We'll have more on the disc in the near future. Stay tuned.

Wow, this is the first demo disc Nintendo has ever made (I believe). I bet those Nintendo marketing guys feel real proud of themselves right now.

Nintendo Power... interesting magazine. No other games publisher makes their own magazine... and that SHOULD mean that it would have had demodisks for years now because they own it... it'd be so easy! But no...

Do they not understand how nice demodisks are?

At least they're changing... I just hope you can get the disk other ways than buying a Gamecube...

Prior to the GC launch I got a free PC demo disk in the mail; had a movie of RL and movies of almost all the launch titles. I still have it around...came in a purple GC-shaped envelope.

I got a DVD in the mail one day that had Samus standing against a backgroud of the top of a Platinum Cube. It had clips from a bunch of games I already had, were sports games, or sucked (not that theres much difference between the last two)

Nintendo has announced that it will be releasing a demo disk this month for the GameCube.

Demos will include Splinter Cell from Ubi Soft, Billy Hatcher and the Mystical Egg and Sonic DXfrom Sega, and Viewtiful Joe from Capcom.

The disk will also feature GBA demos which can be downloaded to the GBA or GBASP via the GC/GBA Link Cable. Two GBA games beleived to be on the disk are Wario Ware and Nintendo Puzzle Collection.

Holy crap, that's a great idea! GBA demos through the GC-GBA link cable! I never considered that possibility. I just hope that they release the demo disk seperately from the Gamecube bundle.

And Nintendo Puzzle Collection for the GBA??!! Please tell me that they didn't make a mistake! That would be a dream come true!

I suggested a while back they could download demos of GBA games to the GBA, but everyone just said "not gonna happen"!

I assume Nintendo Puzzle Collection will be Yoshi, Yoshi's Cookie, Pokémon Puzzle League, Dr. Mario, and some version of Tetris? I certainly hope they do the same thing they did in Tetris and Dr. Mario for SNES and have a mode where you play all the game at once in a succesion fassion so you get things where the first player has advanced to the Yoshi's Cookie stage while the second player is still on Dr. Mario stage. That was just so cool in Tetris & Dr. Mario, especially getting a "Tetris" on one side and seeing the other side get flooded with bits of junk pills.

And having a GBA version of Tetris Attack is enough to get me excited. I think they might have made a mistake though. I haven't heard anything about a GBA version of Nintendo Puzzle Collection.

I hadn't heard anything about a Nintendo Puzzle Collection period! I assume a version is coming out for GCN. Assuming it's a collection of 2D puzzlers, making it portable is a far nicer solution. They are puzzle games after all, they are meant to be on portables! God told me so! God being this guy I know with a very unfortunate name. In fact often when I explain that to people they assume I'm making some really stupid pun-like joke like comedians do. But really, I HATE those kinds of jokes, pretencious as they are.

That's the GC version of Puzzle Collection, but you can d/l some games to the GBA through it.

Dr. Mario 64, Yoshi's Cookie (like the SNES version), and Panel de Pon (PPL/Tetris Attack). Read the review... it seems Dr. Mario 64 isn't too good.
