A Game I Made! - Great Rumbler - 12th January 2009

For some reason it won't work for me. It just comes back with a "CGI Error".

What is the exact error message?

Also you need to have .Net framework 2.0
Windows Xp
Direct X 7 Installed.
And Windows Installer 3.1

Clicking "Install" Instead of Run on the web page I gave you might fix these problems.

Edit:

Or did you mean the web page? The web installer has a lot of issues if you don't open it up in Internet Explorer. Try that.

Quote:CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. The headers it did return are:

Doesn't matter if I try IE, Firefox, or Seamonkey, that's what I get when I click "Install".

A Game I Made! - Fittisize - 12th January 2009

I managed to download the application and open it by clicking "launch" but whenever I try to do anything with it I get the following message (clicking continue does nothing to help):

I'm pretty sure you're in the game. If you look at the screenshot in the first post of the thread, you'll see your avatar in action, only it's facing the other direction.

Yeah the chimp!

I am also seeing an error screen when i click install.

A Game I Made! - Great Rumbler - 12th January 2009

I'm using Vista, so that might be the problem.

Ok, I think I have a solution.
Every one try this....

First Update Your Direct X, by going [here]

Next, I've rewritten the program to you DirectX 9 series instead of 7. This should help with any vista issues. Run my game again, and it will prompt you to download the update. Or if you uninstalled it just reinstall it to get the new version.

Let me know if that works...

Erich

I tracked down that error and fixed it.
It should work now.

A Game I Made! - Fittisize - 12th January 2009

Still can't get it to work after downloading all of this potentially harmful software. I dunno, maybe you should try a different format.

A Game I Made! - A Black Falcon - 12th January 2009

That did it, it works now.

Black Falcon just got it working...
Did you update your DirectX?
Did you to launch or install?

Install installs all the prerequisites + the game - directX (you have to install that manually [here]).

Try install if you did launch and make sure you have at least direct X 9c.

I fixed it so the error screen is no more just click install and it works now, provided your DirectX is up to date.

Update DirectX [here].

A Game I Made! - etoven - 14th January 2009

Just run the game again to download the update.
Also fixed some problems with the games AI.

A Game I Made! - etoven - 16th January 2009

There are now 3 stages total, including Ryan and DMILLER! Each with unique attacks, sound effects and level music!

Just run the game again to download the update!

A Game I Made! - ReliableG - 19th January 2009

I wont download until I hear of a TrollSr level!
