The baby, weighing 4kg (8lb 13oz), had some slight injuries, but no bite marks. The owner called the police and the child is now being looked after by the authorities, while a decision is taken about his future.
The frightened mother appeared shortly after her baby was found.
The Argentine media has descended on the shanty town, talking of "the Argentine Romulus and Remus", the founders of Rome, abandoned as babies and rescued by a wolf, nearly 3,000 years ago.
La China, worried about her own puppies, is reported to be petrified by her new found fame, and her owner says he is worried that she is not eating.
I am surprise that Argentinians are so aware of ancient Roman folklore, The wolf Lupae of legend was the goddess Artemis in disguise.

They should name the baby Romulus or Remus, This goes to show what kind society you have when there is a low age of consent and no access to abortion. Hopefully the baby will be adopted into a good home, Somebody call Angelina Jolie!!

How many people on the street in your city could answer the question of who are "Romulus and Remus" and what is the Aeneid?
I'd expect Italians or Europeans to know about their folklore and cultural heritage.
I am surprised that south americans would know enough to make such a immediate connection with Virgil's Aeneid? Aeneid is less known compared to the Greek Homeric epics.
Ive heard that Argentina has a large Italian Diasporas , Maybe it comes from there?

"I have never felt so much pain in my life. The dog was attacking him and I was trying to release him and I could not," the boy's grandmother told The Star newspaper.
Police have opened an investigation into the attack.
If you ever in the situation of a dog attack grab it by its hind legs and pull back or as in this case unleash a dog of equal size to distract it while you rescue the child.
