World Reborn - A Black Falcon - 4th April 2008

GBA game (shmup), completed in 2004 but never released by the publisher, just recently put up for download as a freeware rom. It's worth a look, anyway.

World Reborn - Sacred Jellybean - 4th April 2008

Meh, shmups...

Are those the vertical-scrolling airplane games, or is it any kind of 2D shooter? If it's the latter, I'll consider giving it a look.

Horizontal scrolling. And you have a healthbar, it's not one hit you die.

It's okay... not amazing, but decent if you like the genre.

The script (it has a story) is intentionally sillily writen... :)

World Reborn - Dark Jaguar - 4th April 2008

So what I have to dig up an inaccurate emulation of a system the game wasn't even released on to play it on my PC? Pass...

Other freeware GBC/A games (that were actually supposed to be retail products):

Daikatana GBC (actually better than the FPS? Perhaps! Finished game.)

(from http://www.rome.ro/games_daikatana.htm )

Tyrian GBC (It is just about complete, just unpublished. Tyrian was one of the best DOS shmups of the early '90s (it was that and Raptor... I liked Raptor more, but Tyrian is great), and the GBC port is definitely worth a try, even if the PC version is better and is freeware too)
Tyrian GBA (not as far along... no sound, for instance. Looks better though, obviously.)
