Kino's Journey is my third-favorite anime ever only after Serial Experiments Lain and Haibane Renmei. I knew there were more stories that hadn't been animated yet (books, right?) but didn't know that they were going to make any more of the anime...

There are 7-8 books and the first book was made into seven episodes. So, yeah, there's plenty of source material left.
