At the request of Ryan I am now the owner operator of Tendo City. Please be assured of the following:
- Ryan still maintains creative control, so continue to expect new themes and creative contributions from him.
- I'm sure they'll be hell to pay should TendoCity loose any of it's glamor, so don't worry about me going and ruining this place.
- I intend to bring more of what you all love to tend city, my new commitments.
- More members..
- More fun..
- Less spam...
- More members..
- One additional note... Lazy you have been demoted to Tendo City janitor, you now have to clean the toilets in the server room. :)

This has been something I've mulled over for well beyond a year, and it's something he wants to do, because, believe it or not, etoven really loves Tendo City.
But, I will still remain, and no radical changes will result, except now the place is being directly-operated by someone who has the time and desire and energy to devote to promoting the place. And if he does suddenly stage a coup-de-tat... I'll kill him and hide the body! :)

All hail the new king! I must say it's a bit odd thinking that Ryan's no longer at the helm, but as Ryan said, Erich does seem to enjoy this place and wants to see it grow as much as, if not more than we ourselves do.
So, welcome to paying the bills for the internets smallest community! As long as the title "ice-9" never enters your mind, we'll be fine :D.
On a side note, and not that I'm doubting your ability in the least, what plans do you have to try and get us more members? We're a hard community to jump into unless you already know one of us, and even then there is little reason to stay. I'm just curious if you had any tentative ideas thought up yet?

hooray for new management! first we'll subsidize and raise the Nikei by 3 points, i'll get ISO 9000 certified and then we'll have pajama parties with Japanese investors on the roof tops of night clubs and come up with interesting ways to hide the hookers body/child porn. We'll tap the untapped, bridge the gaps, generate buzz with interal scandals (i'll make a sex tape) and someone needs to say something really harmful to an entire demographic in a public foray - bonus points if its more than one demographic simultaneously.

etoven, my first suggestion is to update to the latest version of the existing message board software before augmenting it. I only say this because the latest versions have a LOT of very nice features that I'd like to see implemented.

We also need to THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX! Let's all use outdated and unproven (and often times proven wrong) business methodoligies to sell ourselves to our higher-ups and get promotions! Remember, the more spectacular the failure, the more money lost, the better you look as an INNOVATOR, a hot commodity that they know is going to do something BIG one day if they only give you a chance, and a fist full of cash, and remember that if ANYONE asks you for evidence that you do anything other than spout nonsense and have never actually DONE anything for the company, you just laugh and say "they said that about Einstein too".
(If someone points out that to be a great thinker it's not enough to challenge the establishment, one also has to be right, run. Come back the next day and act like it never happened and continue to use the same argument. They love you, they'll forget any good logic used against you.)

Hmm.... The one thing I fear is if that's really... I dunno, moral? Google, at least, seems to have safeguards in place to detect such fraudulent boosting, and to be honest, we're constantly invaded by spider bots anyway. I'm pretty sure they know we're here. Artificially boosting our "score" on the engines may not be the best way to go about things, but I dunno, any thoughts?

The bot doesn't really boost our ranking by any illegalement means. It simply submits the site for spidering to more sites in five minutes than what would take a human five years. Since Google spiders other search engines our rank is improved by process of reference. I'm not saying that Tendo City doesn't get it's fair share of spiders, but TovenNet for example gets over 50 times that indexing action. I could easily get spider-ed 200 times a hour.
It is by this process that I have earned the number 1 ranking for "TovenNet Search" and all the sites that reference "TovenNet" point to me. This is exceptional since I beet out my cousin Shane Toven who used to be ranking king for the keyword "Toven". He is a paramount radio technology personality who has been on the cover of PC world magazine.
Also Google has a new service were you can submit whole site "trees" to Google and bypass the bot altogether. Plus you can create an account so you can read bot logs. MSN has a similar service.

Etoven, now that you have a little more say so on matters, is there anything I can contribute? I have about 3-4 weeks off before I start school again, after that I won't be available much if at all. I saw what you did with our test site...it was coming along. I'm not sure how long ago you did that...In any case, I can't wait to see what you do with the place.
