Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - Dark Jaguar - 30th March 2006 I owns it, and it is fun! Minigames everywhere! For example, I've put up posters in a hyper extreme way, I've shoved a thing up a hill, and I've freestyle skateboarded mail to a bird. Further, I was surprised to find Seifer as a kid, but not nearly as suprised as when I saw FF6's Setzer, as an adult, taking part in this weird tournament. He's still all about gambling, considering luck the most important thing to have in the competition. I hope I get to ride the Blackjack! I hope he uses cards! Well, I got to get back and lose more sleep! Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - EdenMaster - 30th March 2006 I'm getting it today and saving sleep for the weekend! Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - Dark Jaguar - 30th March 2006 I was on the holodeck, and it malfunctioned! The evil simulated holographic Lincoln is BAAAACK! Pay no mind to the character you start with. He's just a nobody. Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - EdenMaster - 30th March 2006 Roxas? Yeah, I know. He's just the lead in. Chances are he'll be back later in the game in some capacity. Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - Dark Jaguar - 30th March 2006 It's a possibility, but he's just a nobody anyway. :D Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - EdenMaster - 30th March 2006 Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - Dark Jaguar - 30th March 2006 What, when I said "it's a possibility"? No, I honestly haven't gotten far enough to determine that myself. I'm just calling the punk a nobody. Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - Dark Jaguar - 31st March 2006 For those who have never played a KH game, here's about what you can expect. <img src="http://www.penny-arcade.com/images/2006/20060331.jpg"> Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - EdenMaster - 1st April 2006 Well...I've been gorging myself on this game since the moment I brought it home, and I don't think I'll ever be abel to go back to KH1 again. My impressions:
My next stop will probably be the Pirates of the Carribean level. Never saw the movie. Then again, I never saw Mulan either, yet I enjoyed that chapter. I don't think there will be really any concern with not liking most any part of this game (although I know it was setting up the story, Roxas' portion of the game seemed a bit too long to me). Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - Dark Jaguar - 1st April 2006 Pete's not "obscure", he was the first Disney villian! As for Sora's voice, yeah that's a bit odd to get used to, but remember that Sora himself is a year older now. Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - A Black Falcon - 1st April 2006 If you think Pete is obscure, you've never watched a Mickey Mouse cartoon... Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - Dark Jaguar - 2nd April 2006 Or Goof Troop. However, my favorite thing so far is the perfect recreation of Retro Mickey Mouse land. From sound effects to music to silly super cartoony heartless monsters, it's got it all! Also, apparently the ancient ones of Steamboat Willy had Mithril Ore just lying around :D. Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - EdenMaster - 2nd April 2006 Anyone built a Gummi Ship yet? I built a great replica of the USS Enterprise, even with two Teeny Ship "shuttlecrafts". The Heartless never knew what hit them! **WARNING!! WARNING!! DORKINESS REACHING CRITICAL LEVELS!** Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - A Black Falcon - 2nd April 2006 Quote:Or Goof Troop. Yeah, but that was pretty much a modern spinoff... Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - EdenMaster - 2nd April 2006 ![]() There it is. This proves beyond a shadow of a doubt just how much of a dork I am. ![]() It really is a great ship though. The saucer houses a radar dish that helps me lock on to enemies quicker, the deflector dish on the front is actually the cockpit (so I guess they're on the Battle Bridge, huh?), and it's pretty fast too. Paired with it's Shuttlecrafts, I'm scoring S rankings down the line. Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - Dark Jaguar - 3rd April 2006 That's all well and good until the holodeck malfunctions creating a transporter accident that sends you back in time and violates the prime directive (which apparently the Disney Kingdom holds dear as well) and also the borg come out as a third threat along with the nobodies and heartless. Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - Dark Jaguar - 4th April 2006 Well, I'm in the home of the <strike>p-zombies</strike> nobodies, and this is a fun game. I have turned into a demon of the dark during a fusion with Donald gone bad (I slayed all that opposed me unmerciful). I've also turned into a... card... I cut the deck with that thing, but I don't recall needing to use myself to open any doors (then again my memories of that may have been contained in... my card of myself. Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - EdenMaster - 5th April 2006 Yeah, I also had a drive form backfire when I tried to merge with Goofy in Christmas Town. Currently, I need to finish the second chapter in Halloween Town, open the way to the Pride Lands (accessed them earlier, never visited them, but they were closed off after the second Hollow Bastion level), and hopefully by then I'll be able to access that massive city that's becoming clearer and clearer through the fog. Still waiting to the hear the significance of all the ice cream bars though (and don't tell me!). Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - Dark Jaguar - 5th April 2006 Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - EdenMaster - 5th April 2006 C'mon, some of the Organization XIII members are pretty tough. I had a bitch of time beating Demyx in Hollow Bastion, and I had to complete some other worlds before I was leveled enough to take on Xaldin in Beast's Castle. Hades was pretty easy though. Jafar too. Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - Dark Jaguar - 5th April 2006 I found one (1) member of that organization tough, and only because I suddenly found myself in control of a character I hadn't bothered to heal (and who now was the holder of the flag that would derezz me into a gameover). That guy with the lances? When I battled him, he was easy thanks to the awesome "learn" and "jump" reaction commands. But anyway, it seems to me the most important Disney world (after Disney Castle and Timeless River) is Tron. All hail the MCP! Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - EdenMaster - 6th April 2006 I enjoyed Port Royal quite a bit more than I thought I would, having not seen the movie and all. Space Paranoids was...eh. Also, I'm glad they simplified the swimming controls in Atlantica...but then they don't give you any battles? Just lame button-pressing minigames? Come on!! Atlantica was one of my favorite worlds in the original, now it's barely worth visiting. Once I get Thundaga, I'll go back to do the final song, perhaps the world can redeem itself somehow... Oh, and the "Guardian Soul" keyblade I got from Auron rocks my socks. Seriously, clean off. It looks awesome and it does incredible damage. The only time I de-equipped it since I got it was when I was doing some sythesis item hunting and was using "Sweet Memories" to increase my Luck. I works too, when everyone has Lucky Lucky, I'd say you get something from enemies the better part of half the time. I'm also a little disappointed at how lacking the coliseum tournaments are. They're a breeze and over too soon. Give me the good old fifty-round Hades Cup over this any day! Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - Dark Jaguar - 6th April 2006 Also, no more experience in the coliseum! No wonder Zeus locked the place up! But hey, the classic musical in Atlantica was fun! Sure it's just a minigame thing, and the fight with Ursula should have been an actual fight, but still, I thought the place was adorable. They did miss one thing though. They had music, they had the vocals subtitled as well. It was Disney music. What was missing? That's right, we didn't get to "follow the bouncing ball". Also, forgot to mention this but, you know those cards you got for being an official member of the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee? That felt like this huge tip and nod to the Mickey Mouse club. Oh and one other thing. How could you diss Tron? I loved that world! Tron learned how to hug! Awwwww! By the way, here's a recreation: DJ: This game is too easy. Oh hey, Sephiroth. I suppose I'll go talk to him. I haven't saved in a while out of boredom, but eh, not like there's that big a risk. Friend: I think that's a very good idea. *3 seconds later* DJ: I AM PAIN! Friend: I think we've learned something today. By the way, Auron's keychain is nice, but I've had trouble ditching Sleeping Lion, until I got Oblivion again (and quickly dueled it up with Oathkeeper, for obvious reasons). That was nice, until I got Ultima. Now I just want to battle an army of pink elephants on parade (hippety hoppity) and maybe some good ol' fasioned family racism in the form of those crows! And then suddenly Kefka shows up and kills Bambi's mother with the Light of Judgement! Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - Dark Jaguar - 6th April 2006 Okay, I just unlocked a 50 level tournament in the underworld. Still no experience, but by the time you unlock it, that's not really needed... Hades: What is your crime, prisoner? Auron: I exist. Hades: Okay, you exist. Everyone makes mistakes. But hey, I'm a forgiving kind of guy. Comedy gold. Kingdom Hearts 2'd! - Dark Jaguar - 5th May 2006 Ahahaha! This is too true! <img src="http://www.penny-arcade.com/images/2006/20060505.jpg"> For those who aren't in the know, basically in KH2 you have to complete all these entries in a crickit's journal to unlock the super secret special ending. I have accomplished this, through a lot of repetition of weird skateboarding rituals and gathering of mythril ore, and have seen, basically the most awesome yet oddly hilarious of things. |
