It's great how centrists, Democrats and Republicans can be one question away from totalitarianism, whereas socialists and fascists clearly have nothing to do with it. Attributing economic permissiveness to anarchists is quite ridiculous as well, since they're generally associated with radical communism.

It is odd, but the thing is, I was always under the impression that anarchy involved the belief in a total lack of any government of any kind whatsoever. In such a system, there are no laws, so people are free to do whatever they want, such as gather in groups and imitate each other, and create rules governing what is and is not allowed, and setting up specific people to govern over their group.

The tests and the schooling will have more to do with both practical knowledge, such as conversation skills, understanding business, working in groups or leading one, and also emotional and moral intelligences.
The staple reading, writing, etc would still be in place. Though math will be taught to an 8th grade level and will only continue if the child wills it. Other important facets of the new education scheme would include world histories in detail. If properly done, the result would be an adult (by age 25) who will carry all known knowledge to atleast a factoring degree to apply it in daily routine and general life. These 'super educated' people would in turn evolve the parent/teacher demographic until it becomes a fluid process of which all parents expect and look forward to when thinking about raising a child.
The required amount of time per day is a total of 3 hours, how and when that is used is up to the parents. Social activity, to include seeing movies, shopping as well as museums and the like would also be a part of the schooling for the child - we dont super educated hermits after all. In this process as well, a type of dating for the child with opposite sexes will be a routine. 'hooking up' is completely up to the child of which the parents take no part in, however it will be encouraged, sexual education as well as 'sex-play' has a major role, including, but not limited to 'hiding sex' from children, discouraging masturbation or sex-play and important factors at the earliest age such as 'hiding' the bathroom or the act itselves.
This new societal paradigm will seem outragous at first and will cause a violent reaction among many walks of people, however the benefits of the process will be seen immeadiately. On a final note, punishment will be given only by parents until the age of 25 at which point national, state and city wide law inforcement will enforce their laws upon them. The types of punishment will exclude physical harm such as spanking or removing treats or hobbies, the punishment will be that the child will be 'exiled' and will have to write out exactly what he or she did that was percieved as wrong, upon presentation it will be handled like a round-table debate in group therapy with such things as 'whoever is holding the paper weight gets to talk and everyone must listen'.
To this end, the child will advance emotionally on a previously unheard of rate while strengthening morality and comprehension skills. Most ideals of child rearing hold true, getting the puppy will remain a staple but reward systems ("You get ice cream when we like you") will be far removed.

I dont understand the 'economic fairness' though. I do think that the government should regulate certain things like drinkable water and food sources (government funded farms and food packaging) so that it is always available to everyone but I believe that people should work for what they want, not get anything handed to them. I guess it's sort of red when you say 'You have to benefit yourself before you will recieve assistance' but it's how I feel. I guess there's no catagory for that other than "communism'. But hey, it works in Star Trek. :D

I really had to comment on this part since it bugged me the most as a math teacher. If you give a kid the choice to continue math or not at the age of 13 almost every kid is going to choose not to continue. I even hated math through most of school, but now I love every aspect of it. If the majority of our kids stop learning math at pre-algebra we would severely cripple quite a few industries in our country, especially high-tech jobs. Even lawyers have a little to learn from math as mathematical proofs in geometry is one of the first school subjects to directly teach logic.
Your whole idea, lazy, is based on the opinion that anyone can be a teacher, but it is a hell of a lot harder than you think. If every parent was a great teacher we wouldn't need public schools, but that just isn't the case. One-on-one tutoring is the best way to go for a child's education, but there is just no feasible way to do it for every child.

No, lazy, I now love math because discovering it on my own led me to find things that I hadn't been taught in high school, and I found math was actually a much deeper subject than I thought. It's true that students don't learn if they don't have the will too, but who says that parents will be able to convince unwilling kids to learn? A lot of families do have "issues" so are these kids who come from difficult homes going to be put at an even larger disadvantage because their parents can't teach them? Teachers learn ways to try and convince children to learn, and forcing learning is definitely not one of the successful methods. Positive encouragement for even small accomplishments can help a lot for struggling or unwilling learners. I have one student in my lower-level algebra class who failed algebra last semester because his previous teacher gave up on him when the student stopped turning in work. In my class he is my strongest student because I keep encouraging him and it convinced him to come in for extra help when he needs it. He is now getting about a 98% in my class. You said "making it a law to enforce the forcing does not work" but isn't that exactly what your idea is doing? Don't think I'm supporting NCLB since it is mostly a crock of shit and does a lot more harm than good, but your idea seems to not only be forcing kids to learn, but forcing parents to learn how to teach.

Perhaps you feel that what children are being assigned to learn isn't all that important. However, math IS important. High school isn't even teaching the math people need to get a job they might actually enjoy that might actually be of some real importance. Remember lazy, while a movie script writer may not need to understand much, the engineers setting up everything DO. You know how sometimes a director gets into fights with the set designers over what is actually possible to physically accomplish? Physics always wins. For example, in a certain James Bond movie a director simply wasn't about to believe a scientific advisor as to exactly how dangerous an undersea vessel they had rented out could be. He said "just have the thing ram the set as hard as possible", even though the scientist was fully aware that it would most likely collapse it and kill Bond. Fortunatly, the guy disobeyed the director and pulled back at the last moment, merely shattering the glass dome and falling short of skewering that poor actor. Reality has the last say, not "creative liscense".
And indeed, you are pretty much forcing parents to teach here. You are under the impression the ONLY proper teacher can ever be a parent. What makes you come to this conclusion? My teachers did in fact teach me much. I will not argue that the system is perfect, or even that there might not be some other alternative to the school system entirely. I will say that to label it a complete failure despite the success an education system has shown is faulty reasoning.
In the past, parents WERE the exclusive teachers of children. Children did not learn much of anything except what the parents knew. During that time, scientific progress was slow. Now, there are a large number of people across a multitude of disciplines. It is true that one must decide to learn, but I can attest from a few years when I was homeschooled that that is hardly the proper solution.
What is important in an education, most important, is to teach critical thinking. Everything else can follow from that. Basic 8th grade level math? Are you serious? People need beyond high school level math as it is taught now! Far too many people don't even understand the concept of different "base" sets in math!
Here's how the average person might address teaching, knowing nothing at all of anything:

lazy, there are things I think should be changed. Currently, science teachers get it all wrong. They just spout out information from a book without engaging the student. It's no wonder people think science provides absolute facts when that's how it is presented. Rather, the teacher, whoever it happens to be, needs to first provide a really deep understanding of scientific method. Once this is accomplished, where the kid actually goes about doing as such, then the teacher can go into details on why we know what we know. In science, one can't simply say "this is true", one must show why it is reasonable to consider it true.
Let me ask you this. List the exact method by which the parenteacher would teach them. Describe this method with precision and technical details.
