Sony has a portable book solution that is "open" to formats, looks a lot like paper (no flicker because the screen doesn't "refresh", the dot "holds" it's previous charge until the page changes). The backlight can be off, though I fear this means there isn't a backlight, and I don't like that.

Seems interesting though...

Someone's a fan of Trigun.

Yeah... was Trigun originally a comic book in Japan?

...

That about sums up EVERY SINGLE ANIME SERIES I'VE EVER SEEN. Aren't there ANY series in Japan that were ORIGINALLY a series and did NOT originate from a comic book? Is there some weird FCC (Japan equivilant) law over there demanding all animated series be based on comic books, or what?

Manga and anime are both very popular in Japan. Manga is easy to make, it then makes its way to thousands of fans who in turn wish to see an animated series. It happens quite a bit, but not ALL the time.

I know what I said is an exxageration, but it's just a little odd to find out every single anime series I've seen originally came from an invariably "much better" manga.

You know, this is America, I think I might just start calling them cartoons and comic books and ditch the pretention of using Japanese slang.
