Hello, it's me again! - nickdaddyg - 26th July 2005

Hey, everyone.
It's your former frequenting member, nickdaddyg. Ya know the practically male model nickdaddyg, lol. Oh boy...I do some more of those nice pictures though, hahahah.

Anyway, just was thinking about you guys, and wondering what's up. Wow, it seems the membership and posting is not great like it was, I feel bad about that. I miss those days back in say...10th grade for me...lovin my N64 (I still do, LoZ:OoT, will always be my fav. game ever...fuck Halo 2, that wasn't worth its price)...and posting at Rumble City, Cloudchaser, and Ryan's old site.

Yeah...well life's more serious now, but still not really that serious, not til maybe my junior year in college. Gonna be a sophomore at AZ State U. Accounting is my decided major for now, although Finance and CIS seem cool too.

But...um...yeah, that's me for now.

Now usually I don't do dis, but here's a lil preview of da remix...(meaning, me)... Enjoy! :shakeit:

Just be thankful I didn't show the whole pic...I'm a towel! Rofl

It's fun being me.

Hello, it's me again! - Weltall - 26th July 2005

omg

Hello, it's me again! - Darunia - 26th July 2005

Weren't you an X-Box fanboy?

Hello, it's me again! - nickdaddyg - 26th July 2005

Mmm...somewhat, I onyl play Project Gotham 2 every so often, just b/c I'm obsessed with exotic cars, but Halo and Halo 2...pfffft. I only own 5 games on my XB ya know. 3 in my lauch bundle, PGR 2 for Christmas 03, and then Halo 2 when it came out (waste of money).

I'm not even gonna bring my Xbox to the dorms this year, I played it maybe 3 times the whole year last year. Shit over winter break, when I came home I was bustin out Starfox 64, and NBA Courtside, and Smash Bros, it was great.

Hello, it's me again! - Great Rumbler - 26th July 2005

I have more Xbox games than Nick...oh God, I feel some dirty...

OB1 quit. Total posting here dropped by at least half. I'm used to this now, but it would be nice to see it go back up again... anyway, nice to see you back i guess... :)

You should...

Hello, it's me again! - Great Rumbler - 26th July 2005

I have a lot more GC games than Xbox games though, so it's okay.

Hello, it's me again! - A Black Falcon - 26th July 2005

I guess so... we might let you go this time.

Hello, it's me again! - Darunia - 27th July 2005

*Sigh* I miss the days when the console industry was a duel between the N64 and the PSX. When it was fun to discuss the industrial goings-on, and each system had a great lineup all the time. I still say that no console game can even approach SM64, GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, Majora's Mask, and especially OoT.

'Boo' to change!

Hello, it's me again! - Weltall - 27th July 2005

If I knew even half of what I now know about both the mechanical aspects of consoles, computers, and electronics, and if I had the business sense and grasp of the industry I do now, I would have totally destroyed you guys back in the CS days.

Hello, it's me again! - A Black Falcon - 27th July 2005

What, because the PSX is oh so much more powerful than the N64? Rolleyes

Hello, it's me again! - Weltall - 27th July 2005

No, but it did have a lot more games. And, in my opinion, more games worth owning.

I actually think the PS2 and Gamecube are much closer in the 'games worth owning' category than PSX and N64 were. Of course, that's a matter of personal taste.

But as far as the comment above is concerned... you just had to be there to know what it was like. We were arguing this shit, and half of the time we were completely wrong or misinformed. Had I the knowledge I have now, I would have totally rocked those stupid debates. :D

And, though it started off as an earnest (if retarded) video game debate, as time wore on, the videogame aspect of the whole experience took a backseat as the Cypherstation thing became more of a personal popularity and numbers contest. More time was spent arguing about how we debated than over what we debated. It really started to get stupid at the end.

It was fun, but I don't really miss it that much.

Hello, it's me again! - Dark Jaguar - 27th July 2005

Welcome back nick, and it would seem that he's no longer the fanboy he was last time he was here. Oh well. Anyway, are you still RACIST? :D Kidding, anyway, you've gone retro eh?

I must confess, taking a mindset of "the classics are the only good games" is the cheapest way to go, but it gets cheaper and cheaper the earlier you start. Currently, N64 games are considered "classics". Darunia actually remembers those days as "so long ago", oddly enough. No, "long ago" is SNES, or NES days. Now if I went Retro during the NES days, well, I'd be "done" right now. I'd just sit around with my Game Axe without a care in the world for the new games. I'd basically BE Cranky Kong.

But, that's not the case. I'm still interested in the new games, because they haven't screwed up yet. Darunia, you may not realize this, but during the N64 days, a lot of people said "ugh, today's games suck! Give me Link to the Past any day over this Ocarnia of Time karp!". And, during the SNES days I recall reading many a though provoking speech regarding how the SNES days are "too much about the graphics" and "games are too easy" and all that stuff.

Same old same old...

Sure, because PSX has more games period, by a huge margin, it probably has more games worth owning. But the N64 exclusives easily make up for that, I'd definitely say... quality over quantity and all that... :)

Yes, I think Darunia has some rose-colored glasses on. Things aren't as much worse now as some people would like to think... and people have always looked at the past as "better than now". Doesn't make it true...

... of course, I say that while being of the opinion that the N64 is a better console than the GC. :D

But yes, there are good games now, good games in the N64 days, good games before that, and always people saying the previous generation was better and that games are going downhill.

Oh... yeah, DJ, you're right of course, what is considered 'classic' changes over time. It's going to. I do think of N64 as classic I guess, but not in the same way as the NES... N64 are too recent to be considered "classics" in the same way NES games are, I think...

Hello, it's me again! - Weltall - 28th July 2005

I dunno about that... 16 bit games are already considered classics, and that's just two hardware generations ago. Now that 32/64 bit is almost two generations old, I don't think it's really unfair to start calling them classics...

Hello, it's me again! - Darunia - 29th July 2005

But then again, I'm nostalgic about everything, and maybe I just missed junior high school.

Hello, it's me again! - Great Rumbler - 29th July 2005

Pining for the good old days at age 20? That's not a very good sign.

Hello, it's me again! - A Black Falcon - 29th July 2005

I don't miss junior high... highschool a bit, but not junior high. :)

Hello, it's me again! - Great Rumbler - 29th July 2005

I don't miss very much about highschool, aside from some good friends that I don't get to see much anymore.

Hello, it's me again! - Dark Jaguar - 29th July 2005

In other news, Penny Arcade is STILL hilarity in material form... which is to say it has some hilarious comedy material... and form isn't a part of it...

<img src="http://www.penny-arcade.com/images/2005/20050729l.jpg">

Oh, the use of language to envoke a response as this!

Note to unfunnies like Darunia: No, I'm not being sarcastic, I love use of language for comedic effect!

Hello, it's me again! - Great Rumbler - 29th July 2005

Penny Arcade is still the best.

How am I unfunny. Need I remind you of my Darunia's Yodeling Classics album, or The Darunia Tales short stories, or my hilarious claims to be a videogame character? Seems to me that I have more humor in my right kidney than you do in all your lower thorax! Rofl

Hello, it's me again! - Great Rumbler - 5th August 2005

ABF's the unfunny one, not Darunia...I think.

Hello, it's me again! - lazyfatbum - 6th August 2005

I think that was Darunia trying to be randomly funny, or his latest torture method. Either way, I won't be sitting comfortably for at least a year.

*Sodomy ensues*
