Killzone was REAL - Smoke - 25th June 2005 But only ran at 5fps. ![]() Quote: - The alpha devkit was using 2 Geforce 6800GT in SLI, the new one uses the G70 Source: Jeux-France via GAF. They have more pages from the magazine at the Jeux-France link. Killzone was REAL - Great Rumbler - 25th June 2005 I read this about an hour ago. "But they are indicative of the final products." Sure they are. ![]() Killzone was REAL - A Black Falcon - 25th June 2005 Just like the PS2 E3 tests were so indicicitive of the final PS2, I imagine? :) Killzone was REAL - Smoke - 25th June 2005 I seriously doubt that the game will look that good but perhaps we'll get something that looks similar running at 30fps. Maybe by the end of the PS3's life it will be able to pull that off. Killzone was REAL - A Black Falcon - 26th June 2005 It's not like it really matters, given the abysmal track record of that developer... even if it DOES look good the chances for the game being even half decent aren't exactly good. So why do people care so much? And besides, it's yet another military-themed shooter... Boring... Killzone was REAL - Smoke - 27th June 2005 People care because if it's real it's an indication of what to expect from other PS3 games graphically. Killzone was REAL - Great Rumbler - 27th June 2005 Plus if they can make the actual game anything like that demo it'd be really awesome. Killzone was REAL - A Black Falcon - 27th June 2005 I'm just not as interested in military-themed shooters as many are, I guess... Killzone was REAL - Great Rumbler - 27th June 2005 You just aren't as interested in FPSs PERIOD, Brian. Killzone was REAL - A Black Falcon - 27th June 2005 They're fun enough at times, but yes, other genres are better. Killzone was REAL - Great Rumbler - 27th June 2005 :shake: Killzone was REAL - A Black Falcon - 27th June 2005 :nodding: Killzone was REAL - Great Rumbler - 27th June 2005 You just haven't lived until you've played games like Half-Life 2 and Battlefield 1942. Killzone was REAL - A Black Falcon - 27th June 2005 I've played the BF1942 demo, it's pretty good for a multiplayer FPS... haven't played HL2, though. :) Killzone was REAL - Great Rumbler - 28th June 2005 :shake: Killzone was REAL - A Black Falcon - 28th June 2005 :nodding: Anyway, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II is the best FPS, not your silly "Half-Life" or its sequel... :) Killzone was REAL - Great Rumbler - 28th June 2005 And yet you've never played HL2? Killzone was REAL - A Black Falcon - 28th June 2005 Since when has that ever stopped anybody? :) Killzone was REAL - Great Rumbler - 28th June 2005 Alright then. Simcity is better than Civilization. Killzone was REAL - A Black Falcon - 28th June 2005 About as true. :) ... I doubt HL2 would run too well on my computer, though... some new games don't run at all, but I think HL2 might. Badly. But for instance, either because of needing a better videocard or needing Windows XP (those are the two things which my computer has fallen behind the minimum requirements of many games in), I can't play games like Everquest 2, Lego Star Wars, Battlefield 2, Psychonauts, Forgotten Realms - Demon Stone, etc... :( Killzone was REAL - lazyfatbum - 19th July 2005 Just to set the record straight, Killzone is a sci-fi/fantasy. It's military themed, but you're fighting semi-humanoid aliens. It is after all Sony's answer to Halo. There are military FPS games on the market like EA's Call of Duty or the like. But Killzone doesn't really fit in that catagory. Ultimately though the first Killzone wasn't all that good or anything. At the most it had some quick fix multiplayer but nothing with any depth and the single player was boring to boot. But all of that a side, the tech demo that was showed us this scene that looked incredibly scripted with explosions happening at just the right time and character movement being right on the mark to catch it all. No video game has that kind of perfect timing in-game I dont care how powerful the system is. Killzone 2 will 'feel' exactly like the first Killzone with much, much, MUCH better graphics. Killzone was REAL - Smoke - 20th July 2005 I don't give a fuck about Killzone 2. I do want to be able to play something that looks this good someday though and I hope I don't have to wait till the generation after this upcoming one. |
