Geography Test - A Black Falcon - 27th May 2005 I found them fun, anyway. I've done them, will post scores later. Continents and Oceans http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/continents_dragdropH.html US States http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/states_experiment_drag-drop_Intermed_State15s_500.html African countries http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/country_africa_G2_drag-drop.html Asian countries http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/country_asia_G2_drag-drop.html European countries http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/country_europe_G2_drag-drop.html Central and South American countries http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/country_SoAmCA_G1_drag-drop.html Geography Test - Great Rumbler - 27th May 2005 I got a 92 on the states. The Europe was one was fricken' hard though, I still passed it thought with a 66. Geography Test - The Former DMiller - 27th May 2005 I love geography. I also got a 92% on the states, although picking between Colorado and Wyoming on the first one is evil. My average error was 30 miles and I completed it in 299 seconds. I'll try Europe now. Geography Test - The Former DMiller - 27th May 2005 Europe was tough. It was impossible to get those small countries even if you knew the general area where they were. I did pretty good, though. I got 82% with an average error of 184 miles (!) in 381 seconds. I'll try some of the others later. Geography Test - alien space marine - 27th May 2005 I some how got Monaco correct by a fluke! Its the second tiniest country in the world the size of central park in NYC. I just knew it was south of france facing the coastline, Everything else was pure luck. I wish we had a canada one, See how you guys do. I had more trouble with the U.S then I expected , Tiny states like delaware piss me off. Only had the most popular states, The few a visited and read about to guide me, Of course Hawaii and Alaska are easy to point. I remeber one I almost had it but it was just a few parsecs off the spot I placed it. Some of the links dont work :( Geography Test - Great Rumbler - 27th May 2005 Quote:Some of the links dont work I noticed that too. Geography Test - alien space marine - 27th May 2005 85% for asia! Geography Test - N-Man - 27th May 2005 Hee hee these are so fun. 92% for the US 95% for Europe 96% for Asia I spent wayy too much time looking at maps as a child Geography Test - A Black Falcon - 27th May 2005 First, correct links, a few were a little off. (you can't just copy the links, they open into new windows, and I got a few wrong...) Continents http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/continents_dragDropH.html US States http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/states_experiment_drag-drop_Intermed_State15s_500.html Africahttp://www.sheppardsoftware.com/country_SoAmCA_G1_drag_drop.html Asia http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/country_Asia_G2_drag-drop.html Europe http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/country_europe_G2_drag-drop.html Central and South America http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/country_SoAmCA_G2_onPress.html Anyway, my scores. Europe 36/44, but that should be 37 because I dropped France a couple pixels off... medium difficulty I guess, but I've always been good with geography. Avg. error 43 miles (pretty good, I think...), 224 seconds, 82% (36/44) correct. I got France (stupid 'not on the pixel' error), Moldova (close...), Malta (again, close), Belarus (again, close), San Marino, Monaco, and Vatican City (got them in the right countries, but not in the exact right place...), and Macedonia (I guess I was thinking of a horizontal map of Yugoslavia, so Macedonia would be east of Serbia instead of southeast... :)) wrong. Maybe if I'd gone a little slower I'd have gotten France, Macedonia, Vatican, and maybe Monaco... but I didn't. Oh well. Continents/Oceans: 9/11, 56 secs. The first few are pretty tough. Central and South America: 17/20, missed French Guyana, Guyana, and Paraguay. 102 sec, 128 avg. miles off. Asia: 43/47 (91%), missed Bahrain, Brunei (not even close... I forgot where it was and put it in the Middle East. :(), Mongolia (map is at an odd perspective... I know where it is, but placing it there was hard.), and Tajikistan (got it and Kyrgyzstan backwards). 123mi. avg. error. 234 secs. Africa: is hard. 41/53 (77%), 277 secs, avg. error 329 miles. Got Chad, Mali, Uganda, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Senegal, Guinea-Bisseau, Sao-Tome and Principe, Seychelles, Cape Verde, Swaziland, and Botswana wrong. US States: 42/50 (84%), avg. error 18 miles (four of those eight were 'right next to the right place, but i was lazy and wasn't precise'...), 192 secs. Geography Test - The Former DMiller - 27th May 2005 Continents: 11/11 in 49 seconds. It really wasn't as hard as it looks when you're starting at an empty world map. It doesn't seem to mind if you are off by a little as long as you get everything in the right general area. Geography Test - The Former DMiller - 27th May 2005 I kicked some butt on Asia, but I'll admit I got lucky by getting Russia early. It's nice to have those outlines of southern Russia. I only missed Brunei and Singapore for 96%, I had an average error of 46 miles, and it took me 295 seconds. Geography Test - Great Rumbler - 27th May 2005 Booyah! 10/11 on the continents! Geography Test - A Black Falcon - 27th May 2005 No one has done Africa yet... :) Geography Test - The Former DMiller - 27th May 2005 I'm afraid to try Africa. I'll probably tackle South America first. Geography Test - The Former DMiller - 27th May 2005 I didn't like using the arrows as opposed to the outlines of the countries for South America, but I still ended up with 100% in 91 seconds. Again, though, I had a bit of luck by getting the bigger countries first. Geography Test - A Black Falcon - 27th May 2005 Oops... linked the wrong one, sorry. There are a bunch of versions of each test, you see... go to the homepage if you want to see them all. correct for Central/South America http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/country_SoAmCA_G1_drag_drop.html Geography Test - The Former DMiller - 27th May 2005 Damn is Africa tough. I got 75% in 422 seconds and missed Mauritania, Senegal, Kenya, Niger, Benin, Ghana, Gabon, Central African Republic, Swaziland, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and Zimbabwe. My average error was 257 miles. Geography Test - Weltall - 27th May 2005 My scores: Continents: 11/11, 22 seconds. Pie. Asia: 36/47, 199 seconds South/Central America: 17/20, 44 seconds. Europe: 34/44, 163 seconds Africa: 38/53, 249 seconds US States: 96%, 120 seconds I rawk. Geography Test - Laser Link - 31st May 2005 US: 96%; 48 of 50 Perfect, Avg Error: 8 miles (I missed Kansas and Mississippi, but I swear the dumb Mississippi said "Alabama" instead. I spent a minute trying to figure out how to get Mobile on the coast with enough room left for Mississippi over Louisiana, and finally just dropped it close by. So what does this say about my reading comprehension skills?) And all the others I didn't do too well at. In the 80-85% range on Europe and Asia, but I bombed South America at around 60%. I thought that would be easy, but then I remembered it has been about 10 years since I had that memorized. Geography Test - Dark Jaguar - 31st May 2005 Yeesh I feel like an idiot. Did the continents one perfectly, but when it came to manmade borders, I pretty much sucked at all of it... Maybe if they asked me where rivers and mountain ranges were I'd do better... Yeah that's the ticket... Geography Test - The Former DMiller - 31st May 2005 I showed that site to the Social Studies teacher I work with at my junior high today and she is probably going to incorporate it into her curriculum next year. It is so perfect for the 7th graders since they study every continent in Social Studies. That also helped me on these quizzes since I've been through 7th grade Social Studies so I have the countries fresh in my head. Geography Test - A Black Falcon - 31st May 2005 Someone linked it on another forum, and I thought it was cool... Oh, if you really want to see 'hard', try Africa on difficulty level 9 (no country name, and you must rotate and resize the outline...). Ouch. 24/53 (45%), 577sec... even the fact that the map gets more filled in as you progress doesn't help much with THAT one. Geography Test - Great Rumbler - 31st May 2005 I got a 62 on Africa.
