Lol @ the ATHF comment

Sucky Comic #2 - A Black Falcon - 14th January 2005

Is there a AHTF plotline GR hasn't used yet?

If so, he should get on it!

Sucky Comic #2 - Great Rumbler - 15th January 2005

ATHF is an awesome show, though.

Sucky Comic #2 - OB1 - 15th January 2005

Indeed.

Sucky Comic #2 - A Black Falcon - 15th January 2005

True.

Sucky Comic #2 - Great Rumbler - 15th January 2005

See? It just shows that I have good taste when it comes to ripping off humor.

Sucky Comic #2 - OB1 - 15th January 2005

Hey I never imitate shows.

I just blue myself.

Sucky Comic #2 - A Black Falcon - 15th January 2005

So yeah, I have cable again and for the first time in 2 1/2 years... interesting, after getting used to being without a TV at school for so long...

Anyway, Cartoon Network has a lot of weird shows.

Oh yeah, and Boomerang is pretty cool.

Sucky Comic #2 - OB1 - 15th January 2005

Like Tom Goes To The Mayor? That's now weird at all!

Sucky Comic #2 - A Black Falcon - 15th January 2005

ATHF, Super Milk-Chan, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi... Tom Goes to the Mayor? Saw part of one episode. Definitely strange. :)

Sucky Comic #2 - Great Rumbler - 16th January 2005

You should watch Venture Brothers and Sealab 2021 as well.

Sucky Comic #2 - A Black Falcon - 16th January 2005

I saw part of one episode of Venture Bros... seemed dumb... Cartoon Network is full of great shows though. And when paired with Boomerang it can't be beat...

Sucky Comic #2 - Great Rumbler - 16th January 2005

They've also got a decent selection of anime, namely Fullmetal Alchemist and Ghost in the Shell Standalone Complex.

Sucky Comic #2 - A Black Falcon - 16th January 2005

GITS: SAC is good, but I've seen a bunch of eps subtitled and the English version just doesn't compare... anime on TV is better if you don't watch the real thing and see how it's better in Japanese. :)

That's probably why I enjoy most of the other anime they have on that I've seen. I haven't seen those in Japanese.

Thank you!! I'm not the only one who thinks so! It's not funny at all... it tries, but it flops.

Sealab 2021, however, is hilarious.

Sucky Comic #2 - Great Rumbler - 16th January 2005

Quote:GITS: SAC is good, but I've seen a bunch of eps subtitled and the English version just doesn't compare

Yeah, it isn't. Still, the English dub is decent enough that it doesn't make watching it on Adult Swim a big pain.

Sucky Comic #2 - A Black Falcon - 16th January 2005

Watched most of another ep of Venture Bros. right now, still not too impressed. Pirates of Dark Water on Boomerang was better. :)

Haven't seen Sealab.

I guess. If they were new episodes I'd probably watch, too... but the two I've seen were ones I'd seen already...

Sucky Comic #2 - A Black Falcon - 19th January 2005

Good young-superhero show: Teen Titans (I like it anyway)
Not very good young-superhero show: Static Shock (it is from WB so I've seen it before. Let's just say that it's one of those shows where I either change the channel or turn off the TV when it shows up.)

Static Shock, however, doesn't compare to the sheer awfulness of Mucha Lucha (also a show from the WB...)...

Oh yeah, and this article is completely right about G4TechTV. http://www.nintendojo.com/editorials/view_item.php?1104864774

Sucky Comic #2 - Great Rumbler - 19th January 2005

WB has fallen on some very hard times. Man, I really miss shows like Animaniacs, Freakazoid, and Tiny Toons.

Quote:Oh yeah, and this article is completely right about G4TechTV.

I miss Leo Laporte...:(

Sucky Comic #2 - A Black Falcon - 19th January 2005

Leo was the best... the show is a pitiful imitation of what it used to be. :(

And yes, the WB's original cartoons sure aren't any good anymore... is TMNT theirs though? That one's okay. Not as good as the old one, but that's because I was a kid when the old one was on. :) Honestly, it's probably better... except that it's a bit more serious. One of the old TMNT's charms is its corniness, I think... :D

Sucky Comic #2 - Great Rumbler - 20th January 2005

Quote:is TMNT theirs though?

No, it's made by 4Kids and distributed by Fox.

Sucky Comic #2 - A Black Falcon - 20th January 2005

Ah. So that's why it's better than the WB stuff. It's not WB. :)

Okay, Jackie Chan Adventures is alright... and the new Scooby Doo. Scooby Doo is good in all its versions... well, it's Scooby Doo anyway... whether that's good or bad is up to question, but it's in the tradition of the older shows. But comparing their current original lineup to past WB cartoons... yeah, no comparison. It's lucky that we have channels like Cartoon Network to make good cartoons. :)

Indeed it is. One of the reasons, in my view, that many of the Adult Swim shows are so good is because they usually have a small crew working on it and they're relatively cheap. Because of that they can experiment and do things that big-budget series with huge crews can't do. That's certainly not the only reason though, but it helps.

Sucky Comic #2 - OB1 - 2nd February 2005

No YOU help!

Sucky Comic #2 - Great Rumbler - 2nd February 2005

Yes, I'm sure that through my very existence CN's shows are magically made better.

Sucky Comic #2 - OB1 - 2nd February 2005

It's possible!

Sucky Comic #2 - Great Rumbler - 2nd February 2005

Why do you keep using different size fonts and colors?

Sucky Comic #2 - OB1 - 2nd February 2005

Because I just found out that I could do it.

Sucky Comic #2 - Great Rumbler - 2nd February 2005

Really? I've known that for like YEARS.

Sucky Comic #2 - OB1 - 2nd February 2005

WELL I'M GLAD YOU DECIDED TO NOT TELL ME ABOUT IT!

Sucky Comic #2 - Great Rumbler - 2nd February 2005

Well, I did.

Sucky Comic #2 - OB1 - 2nd February 2005

Like my caricature of you?

Sucky Comic #2 - A Black Falcon - 2nd February 2005

The font thing has always been there... good reasons to use it never have, however.

Sucky Comic #2 - Great Rumbler - 3rd February 2005

Quote:Like my caricature of you?

He looks like a puppet...

Sucky Comic #2 - OB1 - 3rd February 2005

It's you if you were a muppet!

Sucky Comic #2 - Great Rumbler - 3rd February 2005

Huh...

Sucky Comic #2 - OB1 - 3rd February 2005

I got your hair down right. And your glasses. That's all you really need for a simple muppet-izing, really. Two distinguished features. I could muppet-ize just about anyone here.

Sucky Comic #2 - deanna - 4th February 2005

muppet-ize me! I wanna be muppet-ized :bummed:

Sucky Comic #2 - OB1 - 4th February 2005

You don't have funny hair though.

Sucky Comic #2 - deanna - 26th February 2005

Yes I do...when I wake up in the morning, I have an afro of curls.
