PSP size - OB1 - 16th December 2004

It's about as small as the DS! Some pics from ign:

That is one sexy-looking system.

PSP size - Great Rumbler - 17th December 2004

It's a bit longer than the DS, but yeah, overall they're roughly the same size. A bit surprising, I figured the PSP would be bigger than that.

Quote:That is one big-ass screen. Wow.

And highly prone to being scratched, no doubt. *clamshells rule*

Does the PSP have any shoulder buttons, it doesn't look like it from those pics.

PSP size - A Black Falcon - 17th December 2004

It has two shoulder buttons. And yes, they are about the same size... but given the size of the DS that's not too surprising.

PSP size - OB1 - 17th December 2004

A clamshell design would have been nice, but I lived with it with the original GBA and I'll live with it now. Always buy cases, kids!

PSP size - Great Rumbler - 17th December 2004

My GBA screen got scratched up really bad.

PSP size - OB1 - 17th December 2004

That's because you're an irresponsible child.

:p

PSP size - Great Rumbler - 17th December 2004

Well, you are an...an...irresponsible adult!

PSP size - OB1 - 17th December 2004

... but I never had any scratches on my GBA screen.

PSP size - Great Rumbler - 17th December 2004

I bet you did other stuff though!

PSP size - OB1 - 18th December 2004

No, not really... I always keep my stuff in perfect shape. Back when we lived in Croatia and I had an N64, I actually put it and all of the parts back into their plastic sleeves and cardboard box every single night for about two years.

PSP size - Great Rumbler - 18th December 2004

You did OTHER stuff though! Like the neighbors cat! I saw what you did to it!

PSP size - Sacred Jellybean - 19th December 2004

Quote:No, not really... I always keep my stuff in perfect shape. Back when we lived in Croatia and I had an N64, I actually put it and all of the parts back into their plastic sleeves and cardboard box every single night for about two years.

Erm

I think that falls past the border line of unhealthy anal-retention.

PSP size - Dark Jaguar - 19th December 2004

At a certain point, any additional efforts to protect one's stuff no longer has any benificial effect. When there is no longer any benefit, an action is either done to obey orders, or is done to put one's fears at ease. When it is done to put one's fears at ease even though the one doing it is likely fully aware of how meaningless it is, I would venture that it is a sign of... what's that thing where people wash their hands like 50 times in a row or flip off a light switch over and over every night because they want it in the "offest position possible, it's not OFF enough dangit!"? That's what this is. Hard to really do anything about it, even when the person is fully aware that it's just a little mental quirk. So long as it doesn't progress to the point where such actions actually get in the way of a productive life, it's really just a little quirk. It would pay to realize that such actions do nothing to protect the system any more than just simply keeping it in the entertainment center would.

PSP size - Great Rumbler - 19th December 2004

Obsessive-compulsive disorder.

PSP size - A Black Falcon - 19th December 2004

Yes, what OB1 described there is definitely obsessive... whether it is a sign of a disorder is a different thing, but that's definitely not something most people do. :)

PSP size - Great Rumbler - 19th December 2004

I get all weird when my books or DVDs get moved around, but come on, packing away your N64 every night for 2 years? That's crazy!

PSP size - A Black Falcon - 19th December 2004

Crazy... like OB1? :)

PSP size - Dark Jaguar - 19th December 2004

Heh, I myself have memorized the exact placement of each of my games.... So... I know when they have been touched, and then I get all panicked and check my memory cards for access, and if I can detect a single save file has been played and saved to, even if they didn't do anything, I feel the honor of my "I gotta perfect the game and no one can help me AT ALL"... thing... has been tainted, so I start a new game file, right then and there...

I wish I was kidding...

But at least I REALIZE there's some serious mental issues going on there :D.

PSP size - Great Rumbler - 20th December 2004

Now I don't do THAT, but I do spend several minutes of every day making sure all my DVDs and books are properly aligned with one another and if they get moved around I get mad.

PSP size - OB1 - 20th December 2004

Imagine being a huge video game fan with no consoles of your own for two years and then finally getting the brand-new awesome Nintendo system which you never thought you'd get... and then living in a house with a really bad mold problem for a whole year.

You freaks would have done the same thing. See, you guys were spoiled brats you always got what you wanted so you took things for granted. I did not.

PSP size - Great Rumbler - 20th December 2004

*doesn't feel sorry for OB1* :p

PSP size - OB1 - 20th December 2004

Yeah well now you're in a similar situation since you live in dumb Oklahoma and can't even play awesome games on X-Box Live which is the only good reason to own an X-Box!! So HA!!!

PSP size - Great Rumbler - 20th December 2004

You still had to pay like $70+ for N64 games...and not the good ones either. *OB1 is teh pwned*

PSP size - A Black Falcon - 20th December 2004

I have never paid over $50 for a console game. I have for a few (not many) PC games, but never for a console game...

PSP size - Great Rumbler - 20th December 2004

The most I paid is about $60, but that was only for a few N64 games.

PSP size - OB1 - 21st December 2004

Goldeneye and Banjo-Kazooie weren't the good ones?? What are you, ABF or something???

Oh and that doesn't matter since now I can buy all of the games I want to (since unlike the rest of you lazy asses, I actually have a job) and play online Halo 2! SO TAKE THAT!!!

PSP size - Great Rumbler - 21st December 2004

Quote:Goldeneye and Banjo-Kazooie weren't the good ones?? What are you, ABF or something???

No, I meant the bad ones cost $70. The goods ones were probably more.

Oh yeah? Well, I live in Oklahoma where it's not cold like Colorado! *OB1 is teh double-pwned*

PSP size - OB1 - 21st December 2004

GE was $70, SotE was $60, Banjo was $50 (since I got it from the U.S.), and the rest of the games I just rented. But yeah most games would have costed $80.

Quote:Oh yeah? Well, I live in Oklahoma where it's not cold like Colorado! *OB1 is teh double-pwned*

It was 70 degrees two weekends ago.

PSP size - Dark Jaguar - 21st December 2004

Having a job means free games? Then what is it I have?! I say it means free games because that's the only feasible way I can think of that could explain how you can actually get ALL THE GAMES YOU WANT. Well, the OTHER way is not just getting payed a finite number of monies, but an INFINITE amount of cash. If neither is the case, as it is with MOST people, then no, you can't get ALL THE GAMES YOU WANT, and neither can I. Well, maybe you get payed SO much that money really isn't an object and you just buy things without caring about the costs at all. Some of us though have to be responsible with our cash since we don't actually have $6000000 a day incomes!

PSP size - OB1 - 21st December 2004

Haha, I was waiting for DJ to reply to that since in the past she's made comments referring to people who have jobs as "rich people".

You see the thing is that I don't want that many games, so yes I can afford all of the games that I want to get. That's maybe a few games a month, depending on the time of year. So yes, I CAN buy all of the games that I want to thank you very much. Even after all of my monthly payments (another thing you'll have to get used to when you grow up).

Indeed, DJ, getting a job is an amazing thing. I know this sounds crazy, but when you work you actually get paid, and with that money you can buy things, usually much more than you could previously buy without a job! It's something that millions of people all around the world do, and I think that when you finally take that leap and decide to enter the workforce you'll realize what you missed out on for all those years. And in the off-chance that you do actually have a decent-paying job, perhaps you need to either get a better job or work more hours.

P.S. Someone quote this please. :D

PSP size - Great Rumbler - 21st December 2004

I get most of the games [and other things] that I want and I don't have to work 6-8 hours a day and try to go to school at the same time. *has his priorities straight*

Wait a second...are you sure DJ can't read your posts? She did make a comment about jobs and so far you're the only person that's mentioned them.

Some people have to pay for their costs of living, as well as car payments, insurance, etc.
