Viva la Reggie-lution! Reggie Fils-Aime BIO: Quote:Nintendo's Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Reginald Fils-Aime, has been a hot topic among Nintendo fans this week following his presence at Nintendo's press conference and the now semi-famous opening line above. So hot a topic is Fils-Amie that the upcoming Revolution from Nintendo has been nicknamed the Reggie-lution, with even IGN Cube having a news story about Fils-Aime. You can read Nintendo's bio for Fils-Aime below. </small>Reggie Fils-Aime Photograph (0.1 MB, JPEG) Reggie Fils-Aime's Opening Words [MP3] (7 seconds, 0.12 MB, MP3) Reggie Fils-Aime's Opening Words [VIDEO] (9 seconds, 0.28 MB, Windows Media) Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - Dark Jaguar - 14th May 2004 That man represents everything I HATE about the motivational speaker. Chris Farley should have been their speaker! Let's get our shovels! Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - Smoke - 14th May 2004 I thought this was the most interesting part: Quote:Prior to joining the company, Fils-Aime most recently was senior vice president of marketing at VH1, part of the MTV networks. Gives you an idea of the direction Nintendo's going in. Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - Smoke - 14th May 2004 This picture is the greatest thing ever. ![]() Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - Great Rumbler - 15th May 2004 That pic is awesome. :) Viva la Reggie-lution!! Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - Laser Link - 15th May 2004 *gasp* He was Senior VP for Panda Express?!?! If he can find a way to get into Nintendo's games the same addictive drug they put into Orange Chicken, Nintendo will have nothing to worry about. Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - OB1 - 15th May 2004 Haha, Reggie is great. He's exactly what Nintendo needs to counter the super annoying reps at Microsoft. And Nintendo can only go up from here in terms of marketing so hopefully he will do his job well. Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - Great Rumbler - 15th May 2004 Go, Reggie! Use your amazing marketing powers to fight the forces of evil!! Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - Dark Jaguar - 15th May 2004 It's marketting though, this guy will have no power over the games themselves, being that it's over in Japan where the magic happens. The only thing he can do is a marketting blitz, and loot he shall! Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - The Former DMiller - 15th May 2004 I love this guys background. Turning VH1 around from the "old people's" channel to the hip station it is now is exactly what Nintendo needs to do except replace "old people" with "little kids." Reggie does kick ass! Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - Dark Jaguar - 15th May 2004 Too bad that he, as a person, AND his methods, will sicken me to the core. Good for Nintendo, but honestly I have a feeling I'm going to personally despise the upcoming advertising blitz, assuming this guy gets the money he needs to actual do a blitz. I won't be the sort the blitz is aimed at, nor will most of you. It's those who DON'T have a brain that these advertisments will focus on. Oh well, I can't fault them for wanting to change their image in the US, and I figure this will work just as they want it to. Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - A Black Falcon - 15th May 2004 Um, and you know this how? Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - lazyfatbum - 16th May 2004 This will help Nintendo. Nintendo should release a game console cover that can make your Nintendo console look like different consoles so that your peers wont refer to you as "gay" or "homo". Nintendo commercials 1 year from now: "*Nintendo Gamecube symbol* MAKE THE LADIES CUM, MAKE THE LADIES CUM, MAKE THE LADIES CUM! AND TREAT 'EM LIKE SHIT! GOTTA HARD ON... AND I USE IT ON MY BITCHES NEED TO MAKE A BEER RUN... I GAVE MY GIRLFRIEND STITCHES I HURT THE BITCH! HURT THE BITCH! SMACK HER CUNT AND HURT THE BITCH! The Legend of Zelda: Dark Reign, Only for the Nintendo Gamecube console. SHINE MOTHERFUCKING GET! *Micheal Moore explodes*" Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - EdenMaster - 16th May 2004 I saw an ad in GameInformer for the navy which made a reference to Reggie. It showed a bunch of guys in a boat with guns, with the subtitle of "Kicking ass is mandatory, taking names is optional." Yvan eht nioj! Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - OB1 - 16th May 2004 DJ, NOA's marketing cannot get any worse than it already is, so I have no idea why you're complaining about this. Pfft... girls... :p Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - A Black Falcon - 16th May 2004 DJ dislikes Reggie... huh. Most people seem to like his talk... me? I don't know, I didn't actually watch the thing... Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - geoboy - 16th May 2004 http://reggielution.ytmnd.com/ You'll need Internet Explorer to hear it. Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - A Black Falcon - 16th May 2004 Well I'm using Netscape and hear nothing, so I guess so... :) But my install of Netscape has never been able to play music embedded into web pages. Not exactly a big loss, so I've never really tried to fix it. Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - EdenMaster - 18th May 2004 A Black Falcon Wrote:Well I'm using Netscape... Stop right there. You're using Netscape, that's your problem. Whatever problem you may have online at any time, that is why. Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - Dark Jaguar - 18th May 2004 Exactly, sorry to say this ABF, but whether you like it or not, web pages are designed with IE in mind first, only THEN will they... ignore Netscape. Mozilla may be a nice rendering engine, but it doesn't mean a thing if no one uses it. The thing is, there are too many things it either does differently or isn't able to do. I'm sure there's things it can do over ie, likely a lot, but that's a moot point if no one designes anything for it. An online standard code is sorta a must, and that's the one everyone has agreed upon. I will say this, when the HTML standard is owned by a company, it's not good in the long run. An open source standard would be better, but good luck getting one adopted by the masses. Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - Great Rumbler - 18th May 2004 Netscape is a good program, but IE is the industry standard and almost everything single website out there will work perfectly with it. Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - A Black Falcon - 18th May 2004 As I said, I'm sure that many people using Mozilla can hear webpage sound. Unless it's a .ASP page, but that's relatively rare... no, it's not some intrinsic flaw in Mozilla. It's just me and my not caring about trying to fix it. Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - Dark Jaguar - 18th May 2004 Yes, it can. The page is coded for IE's specific method though, using the BGSOUND tag, which apparently mozilla doesn't support. Anyway, there ARE codes that will work in BOTH, and to be honest, that's what they should have done here, but they didn't, choosing the IE thing. A chunk of pages do that. Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - A Black Falcon - 18th May 2004 My point is that NO pages with sound embedded work on my system... not just this specific one. Including ones I seem to remember that worked on previous versions of Netscape, like, oh, Tendo City? :) Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - Dark Jaguar - 18th May 2004 Ah nuts, my various embedded sound files have all gone for naught! TC, if you don't know, doesn't really have any specific command for adding sound... that I'm aware of. So, I've just been using whatever sound embed tag I feel like. In other words, some of them could work, while others don't, all because different files are embeded with different code. Try http://www.avantbrowser.com/ for a while. It's basically just a shell for what your system already has, IE. Make sure you activate sounds and such in the tools drop down box. It basically adds all that stuff you like about Netscape, except for it using IE. It's only like 2 megabytes total. It's got the whole multiple document interface you love so much, as well as two buttons you can use to turn off pop-ups and flash animation whenever you like. Also a button for pictures, but honestly only GR would find that useful. Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - A Black Falcon - 18th May 2004 Oh, by "previous versions of Netscape" what I really meant was "on other computers". :) I'm not sure if they work in IE on my comp either, actually... Oh, and if you think I'll use IE again (for anything other than a site that will not work at all in Netscape -- and generally that's a site I won't be back to) you are insane. Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - Dark Jaguar - 18th May 2004 You should at least give it a chance. If ya can't at least try this out, then why did I bother trying to help you? Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - A Black Falcon - 18th May 2004 I have no idea, because IE is stupid. Microsoft makes mediocre programs at best and IE is no exception. Even if it ran better and stuff I'd still use Netscape if just because the interface is so much nicer... IE is so ugly... And of course not using a Microsoft program is always good. Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - Weltall - 18th May 2004 I use Mozilla, because IE is less stable and it is rife with popups. I NEVER see popups with Mozilla. I would never switch back. And here's the kicker: Without doing anything out of the ordinary or out of my way, I hear the music on that site perfectly fine with Mozilla. Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - A Black Falcon - 18th May 2004 As I said, if I cared about fixing it I probably could. :) Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - Dark Jaguar - 18th May 2004 Probably, but in any case, things are fine the way I have it set up now, and I don't feel so very inefficient. I just have no reason to eat up disk space. Are you a part of the Reggie-lution? - geoboy - 19th May 2004 Fucking Firefox. <img src="http://www.tcforums.com/ubb/icons/icon8.gif"> Back to regular Mozilla for me.
