Strange that there's no dedicated sword button though. But you can roll! Woo!

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - A Black Falcon - 10th May 2004

Use items. Like the LA engine games, I assume...

Perhaps this will make you super-hyped about Minish Cap, ABF. If not then you are dead.

I'm gonna need so many new pairs of pants after today. How can so many amazing games be shown all at once??!!

Release date: 2005 :(

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - Great Rumbler - 11th May 2004

It looks pretty good!

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - OB1 - 11th May 2004

Best-looking 2D Zelda yet. :D

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - A Black Falcon - 11th May 2004

It does look nice, but best 2d Zelda graphics ever?

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - OB1 - 11th May 2004

Aside from Four Sword GC, what looks better??

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - Smoke - 11th May 2004

Nothing.

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - Great Rumbler - 11th May 2004

I'd say it's probably the best looking also.

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - A Black Falcon - 11th May 2004

Well, yeah, the choice is between FS+ and this, isn't it... I don't know.

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - OB1 - 11th May 2004

ABF is dumb.

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - Great Rumbler - 11th May 2004

Dumb not unlike a box of hammers.

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - A Black Falcon - 11th May 2004

I might pick FS+. But I think I need to see more of this game... but I don't think the art style is as good as the backgrounds in LttP/FS+, certainly. Characters is different... there it might be as good (given that LttP's characters aren't as good as the backgrounds).

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - OB1 - 11th May 2004

Wow, Minish Cap looks amazing.

And the trailer--wow. http://www.nintendo.com/gameminiav?gameid=87089c44-e5e2-4980-b071-d6befe22c507

Best handheld title of E3. I just want it to come out before 2005!

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - A Black Falcon - 11th May 2004

Watched the video. It's definitely very, very nice looking, but I still question if the background art is as good as FS+...

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - OB1 - 11th May 2004

Dude, you're comparing a GC game with a GBA one. But that pic on the left is gorgeous.

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - A Black Falcon - 11th May 2004

Is LttP more fair, then? This game has better technical work, as I'd expect from a GBA-native game, but artistically? I don't know. Hard to decide...

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - OB1 - 11th May 2004

Oh most definitely. WW art > LttP art.

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - A Black Falcon - 11th May 2004

It's hard to compare. MC (or shoult it be TMC?) has a very different art style from LttP... it looks more 'realistic' in a way. As in, not as super-cartoonish as LttP. And the 'you are very small' theme makes changes too. As I said it is technically better than LttP, but I think I'd take LttP for background art style. Characters? LttP's aren't particularly good, but Minish Cap has a look... hmm, how can I describe it. 'Rendered'? It isn't quite right, but it's the closest thing I can think of. It makes me think of Warlords Battlecry... 'rendered' art. Not terrible, but not as good as hand-drawn... this well might be hand-drawn, I don't know, but it just doesn't have as much style as LttP.

As in, I think Link's design is better here than LttP, and some characters too, but what about that worm-thing? It doesn't impress me much. Maybe better than LttP, but not by much.

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - OB1 - 11th May 2004

Realistic? That's absurd. It looks as cartoony as WW does, just 2D.

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - A Black Falcon - 11th May 2004

It looks higher-resolution... clearer. Sharper. But more 'sterile' I guess. I don't know. I think realistic is the right term... I don't mean that it looks realistic, but that compared to LttP this depiction of a world is "realistic". Like, those leaves...

Oh, sure, it looks good. But I'd take LttP's background art style over it.

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - Great Rumbler - 11th May 2004

Best handheld game of E3? I don't know, there's some DS titles that might have something to say about that. :D

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - OB1 - 11th May 2004

Bah, you are teh stuped, ABF.

And none of those DS games are really full single-player ones, so Minish Cap looks the best. New 2D Zelda! Come on, guys!

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - A Black Falcon - 11th May 2004

It's Capcom Zelda... the guys who made Oracles. So I'm expecting a good game, but not quite Nintendo quality. The graphics back that up. They're good, but not as stylish as I bet they would be from Nintendo.

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - OB1 - 11th May 2004

The Oracle games were up to Nintendo's standards, so I expect nothing but a superb Zelda title with Minish Cap.

I can't believe I'm the only one here looking forward to it so much...

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - Great Rumbler - 12th May 2004

I'm looking forward to it! I just have doubts about whether it's the best handheld game of E3.

E3: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - OB1 - 12th May 2004

Well what else was there aside from some DS multiplayer games and ports?
