I understood everything said in that letter.

That ain't Engrish, that's how half the girls in my grade actually talk and write notes and shit ('cept they don't use words like 'niggas')

English as a second language. - A Black Falcon - 25th January 2004

It's close enough to Engrish to not matter. :)

That's because you know their native language: "Indecipherable crap".

That was awful. I feel dumber having read it.

Who here wants to spam this girls email address with links to Dictionary and Thesaurus websites?

That's AOL speak on paper. Take note of the dollar signs in "a$$", the use of the @ symbol (because writing "at" just takes so much more time to do) and the hand drawn emoticons. Type

Some of it is. The rest of it sounds like someone who spent more time studying Ebonics than English.

This is for EdenMaster, what do you mean by their or should I say our, since I am black too. "native language: "Indecipherable crap"." Think about what you are about to say before you say it.

English as a second language. - Weltall - 28th January 2004

Well, African-American, it is pretty indecipherable.

It's just that older black people don't speak like that. Only kids. She's not speaking black, she's speaking "dumb teenager". I'm pretty sure that's what he meant... we've had this discussion here before. :D

I bet she's white anyway.

English as a second language. - geoboy - 29th January 2004

I've seen plenty of white girls write like that. It's just as Weltall said - she's speaking "dumb teenager".

Hooked on ebonics be workin' for me.

English as a second language. - Weltall - 29th January 2004

Nigga please.

English as a second language. - Geno - 29th January 2004

Don't shizzle, my nizzle... whatever that's supposed to mean. (Don't shit, my nigga?)

English as a second language. - Great Rumbler - 29th January 2004

Quote:Nigga please.

That reminds me of a hilarious skit on Mad TV. :D

English as a second language. - Weltall - 29th January 2004

I remember it...

Chris Rock: "Hey man, this is some good cereal. What is it?"
White Short-order Cook: "Nigga Please!"
Chris Rock: *grabs the guy by the neck "What did you say?!"
Cook: *holds up box* "Nigga PLEASE!"
The look on his face was hilarious. :D

That's almost as bad as hacker talk.

English as a second language. - Weltall - 30th January 2004

Almost, except that hacker talk originally stemmed from people who were otherwise quite intelligent.

English as a second language. - A Black Falcon - 30th January 2004

Good point. :)

Weltall Wrote:Almost, except that hacker talk originally stemmed from people who were otherwise quite intelligent.

Yeah, and now hacker talk is used more by newbies than by actual hackers. Newbies think they're so 1337 'cause they think they're speaking in a language only they can understand. Type

That's actually not what I was thinking, but that's still funny. :D
