ZSNES: Video Mode and other options - MgL - 24th January 2003

I was wondering what Video Mode in ZSNES I should use to make the games look the best, anyone mind telling me what they use? I started using ZSNES again last week and noticed that I must have fooled around with the options a while back and now I don't know what to use. The pixels stand out a lot now. My screen color is True color 32 bit and my screen size is at 1024x768.

That's what happens with such a high-res monitor.

I don't know whats best, but in ZSNES I use 1024x768 DS Full, with 2xSai and H-Res Mode7 on... and change the New Graphics Engine and Old Graphics Mode2, depending if they help a game look better or not. Generally I just leave New Graphics Engine on, and the other one off. But there might be better settings, I don't know.

If your computer is fast enough, I recommend enabling Vsync and cranking up your monitor's refresh rate. It prevents tearing, but if your computer isn't fast enough and the framerate has to drop, it will go to something divisible by your monitor's refresh rate wich will make it really jumpy.

That won't fix the pixels from standing out but it is something worth trying anyway.
