Ack! None of the old skins work! And this one is so ugly! I dislike a lot the giant bar on top of the post with the name in it. Sidebar! Sidebar! And it's so big! And I love TC3.0... or any of the skins... and they don't work... bah. Stupid "upgrade".

Oh yeah, and in the 'new reply' area there's the box you type in then a complete page blank before the area ends and the post buttons are... and also the smilie box is broken, two rows and very long...

It just has big spaces between everything on the skin, and large boxes everywhere. Quite unpleasant. Conclusion is that it is bad.

You don't like anything.

There are a few problems like the smiley box and I'll fix those. The old styles are incompatible with the new board but I will convert them tomorrow.

And yeah, it's big. And I told you a million times just why that is. As long as you refuse to move on, you'll have that problem. What you see here is compeltely unaltered by me. As I told ya before, the world is moving beyond 800x600.

As for the rest, it's new and quite different. Making it perfect will take some time. Patience, young padawan.

I don't like anything? That's not true, I really like the TC 3.0 skin... and it's not just different, it's massive and ugly. Bad things for a forum. You really DON'T need bars on the top of every post that are a quarter of the length of the screen (the part of the screen with the forum in it I mean)...

*checks* A third, not a quarter.

It'll be back. As soon as I figure out the intricacies of this new software.

It's really neat. Go check out all the new stuff in the admin panel. Get on MSN and I'll tell you how to access it (new URL)

WYSIWYG POST MAKER! WOO!

vBulletin 3 - A Black Falcon - 10th January 2004

I just fixed the stupid default ten character minimum post to be one character minimum post length like before. :)

I dont like it.

vBulletin 3 - A Black Falcon - 10th January 2004

I can't think of any advantages of making people type ten characters (not spaces i think) in their posts.

vBulletin 3 - The Former DMiller - 10th January 2004

Y

vBulletin 3 - A Black Falcon - 10th January 2004

Oh, for anyone wondering, Weltall said he'll make some skins so we aren't stuck with this ugly thing. :)

vBulletin 3 - EdenMaster - 10th January 2004

W00T! Now, then! First things first:

ABF, shut up :). If the world conformed to you, then...well...there wouldn't be a world. If it were up to you, you'd have us living on Jupiter. With 600x800 resolution. *shudder*

Secondly, this new style is great, and I shun all those who disagree with it!

Long live vB3!

vBulletin 3 - Great Rumbler - 10th January 2004

I actually like it. It has a sleak, I-know-how-to-do-things-with-computer look. It does need a new logo though.

vBulletin 3 - A Black Falcon - 10th January 2004

It has a style, but it's anything but sleek... that word makes me think of 'compact'...

vBulletin 3 - Great Rumbler - 10th January 2004

Compact? The word is "cool", ABF.

vBulletin 3 - A Black Falcon - 10th January 2004

Cool, yes, but sleek also means streamlined... and streamlined doesn't mean everything spread out all over the place.

vBulletin 3 - Fittisize - 10th January 2004

I kinda like this style, 'cause every page that DJ posts on doesn't stretch the thread and make me scroll across to read every message.

vBulletin 3 - Dark Jaguar - 10th January 2004

You didn't have to do that before. Even though my sig might stretch things for MY posts, the rest are the right size due to how it worked. Not only that, it would only stretch it if you were using 800X600 like ABF.

Violin

I gotta admit though. The way this has all our avatars above our messages makes it too tall. It adds too much length to things, which wasn't a problem with the avatars and such NEXT to our messeges.

vBulletin 3 - A Black Falcon - 10th January 2004

According to Weltall it's only too tall if you use 800x600... Rolleyes I think it's too tall either way. Just far too big. I can see why getting rid of the sidebar is nice (it does make DJ's sig display with no stretching now, though before I didn't have to scroll over to read the posts... at least most of the time...), but the avatars just make it too big.

And no, Weltall, I don't want to turn them off. I like them and identify people by them.

vBulletin 3 - Laser Link - 11th January 2004

The WISYWIG editor is spiffy.
If it really works.

That should be 5 blank newlines...
And 20 spaces...

Now how about formatting?
for(int foo=0; foo < 42; foo++)
{
cout << "3 spaces for a nice ident makes everything easy to read\r\n";
}

vBulletin 3 - Laser Link - 11th January 2004

Poop. Well, it does keep track of how many newlines you typed, so we don't have to do the old
.
.
.
.
.
thing anymore. That's good. But it still doesn't allow extra blank spaces, which means you can't format code or whatever else, should the need arise. You can force it with embedded html I guess, but that's annoying.

Oh well. TC 6 rocks, especially Midnight Edition. :D

vBulletin 3 - Laser Link - 11th January 2004

ACK! My sig looks all silly now. I guess it doesn't recognize all embedded html, just whatever html it wants to recognize. I guess I'll just have to change my sig and write a PHP random sig generator (or steal someone elses). Remind me to do this before school starts againin a week.

vBulletin 3 - Dark Jaguar - 11th January 2004

I haven't checked out the new powers, but it'll certainly make it worth it. Yes, Midnight Edition looks cool, or WILL look cool when it's finished.

vBulletin 3 - Laser Link - 12th January 2004

           blah?

Ah, so you can force spaces, but only if you put a semi-colon at the end of the &nbsp. It worked before without, but maybe you need a semi colon for strict html or something. Oh well, good to know now.

vBulletin 3 - A Black Falcon - 12th January 2004

The skins are a definite improvement in the graphical look.

vBulletin 3 - OB1 - 12th January 2004

I think this looks great, although the avatar size and placement will take some getting used to. TC 6.0 is very sexy indeed. I definitely like the lighter version.

Nice job, Welly.

vBulletin 3 - A Black Falcon - 12th January 2004

The avatar size and placement needs to be changed.

vBulletin 3 - Dark Lord Neo - 12th January 2004

I just don't like how the name and avitar are above the posts

Dark Lord Neo Wrote:I just don't like how the name and avitar are above the posts
The old way was better , This one is crap.

vBulletin 3 - Great Rumbler - 12th January 2004

I like it with the avatars and names above the posts. It looks cool.

vBulletin 3 - A Black Falcon - 12th January 2004

It just makes the top bar above posts way too large...

vBulletin 3 - Great Rumbler - 12th January 2004

No it doesn't.
