Perfect Dark Zero: See you in three years! - Great Rumbler - 18th September 2003

Quote:When it was first announced that Rareware had been sold to Microsoft fans were shocked in large. Many hardcore Rareware fans brought an Xbox to get all of Rareware's new games.

One game that really had people excited was the then unseen Perfect Dark Zero. Fans even went to such lengths as to buy an Xbox for the game.

A video featuring Joanna Dark in a more anime look was shown last year and fans have been eagerly waiting for news since, and today they have had some bad news.

It seems one of the most anticipated games for the Xbox wont in fact come out on the Xbox. It has a release year of 2006, and will appear on Microsoft's next console.

2006, huh? That's kind of a long ways away.

I pretty much figured as much a few months ago that this would be the case after reading up at Rareware.com that they were still in the planning stages. I imagine it'll end up being a launch title, but then again this is Rare :D. If it IS a launch title though, then that'll mean one thing. XBox 1's life cycle belonged to Halo. XBox 2's life cycle will belong to Perfect Dark.

If it's going to be an XBox 2 launch title that means it will be released a year or so after the XBox 2 is launched. Wasn't Star Fox Adventures suppose to be a Cube launch title?

Yeah, as I said I doubt it'll happen. I was just being hopeful. But then again, EVERYTHING was supposed to be a GCN launch, like Super Smash Bros. Melee and Pikmin for instance.

Yeah, and a late in life N64 game title before that...

Well, at least SSBM and Pikmin were released soon after the launch. We had to wait almost a year for SFA to finally be released.

I actually didn't get my Xbox for any specific reason. I just didn't have one, so I got one.
