In the deal, THQ will co-publish three titles based on the popular Sonic the HedgehogTM franchise, including Sonic Pinball Party, Sonic Battle, and Sonic Advance 3, as well as Shining Soul II and Shining Force, across Europe, Australia and other international territories beginning with Sonic Pinball Party in winter 2003.
This announcement confirms two previously unannounced GBA games: Sonic Advance 3 and Shining Force. It's clear what Sonic Advance 3 will be, but it's assumed that Shining Force will be a continuation or remake of the strategy RPG game produced by Camelot (then known as Sonic Software Planning) on the Sega Genesis. Camelot is the development studio currently known for its Golden Sun series on the Game Boy Advance. No announcement has been made regarding the development team handling Shining Force on the GBA.
Expect more on Sonic Advance 3 and Shining Force for the Game Boy Advance at the Tokyo Game Show, which begins September 26th.

Sonic Advance 3 is great (albeit expected) news as the first two games were great, and Shining Soul 2 could be cool if it addresses the reported problems with the first game. The best news however is the announcement of Shining Force for the GBA! For any of you that haven't had the chance to play a Shining Force game, it's a really fantastic strategy RPG series that's long overdue for a sequel. Woohoo!!
Perhaps Sega will do us all a favor while they're at it and release all three parts of Shining Force III (only part one was released for the Saturn in the U.S.) over here.

Sonic Advance 3... hmm, okay. The first two were good and must have sold well so yeah, it was pretty much inevitable...
As for Shining Soul, its Gauntlet... with a tad of Diablo. Very simple...

As for Shining Soul, its Gauntlet... with a tad of Diablo. Very simple... but, I'd say, not quite as good as either of those games. At least the major-console versions, I haven't played Gauntlet for GBA...

Uh, all of the GBA Sonic games have been completely original (including Sonic Advance 3, I'm sure), and I doubt that this new Shining Force will be a simple port. Although if it were a port of SF 1& 2 that would be terrific...

Three. Although the third game was split into three parts. The same game but from different points of view, so they were pretty different from each other. Unfortunately only part one was released in the U.S.

There are also the three Game Gear games... Shining Force CD for Sega CD is really a collection of the first two of those games put together, with some improvements made (graphics, voice...) and a new third quest added. :) Seven games then...
So, the question is, will this be a new game?

Well yeah there are the Gaiden games, but those were really side-quests (hence the name 'Gaiden').
Hopefully it'll be a new game, but I would be very happy with a port of SF I & 2.

Well in this case it's like Tactics Ogre GBA to the rest of the series. Full game, but a side story to the main plotline.

Uhh...
Okay. Shining Force main series and Shining Force Gaiden. Both have the same battle gameplay, but differ in that Shining Force has towns to explore and Gaiden just has shops where you buy stuff.
Tactics Ogre? It differs a lot from Ogre Battle... but of course the various Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre games are similar, if that's what you meant...
