Star Wars vs Star Trek - A Black Falcon - 12th September 2004

I like it more with a more realistic explanation... :)

Star Wars vs Star Trek - Dark Jaguar - 12th September 2004

I'm not sure how that's somehow more realistic...

Star Wars vs Star Trek - Darunia - 12th September 2004

I can solve all of this very simply:

Star Trek is great, but Star Wars is better.

Now let's all go eat cheesecake.

Star Wars vs Star Trek - Great Rumbler - 12th September 2004

Yeah, there's no denying that Star Trek is awesome, the movies [well, the even numbered movies anyway :)] and most of the series were good, but Star Wars is just better.

Star Wars vs Star Trek - OB1 - 13th September 2004

Not everyone in the SW universe is force-sensitive, and that was established in the very first movie. Luke had that potential, Han did not. The only force users in the entire OT were Luke, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Vader, and Palps. The whole midichlorians thing just spelled it out for people. It didn't make the Force any less mystical, except for those that really didn't get what they were (like DJ).

One of the main messages of Star Wars is about the choices people make when they have power. Your potential may not be up to you, but the choices you make with that potential are what matters.

Star Wars vs Star Trek - Weltall - 13th September 2004

My take is when Star Trek is more extreme than Star Wars, in that when it's good (KHAAAN), it's DAMN good, and when it's bad (Star Trek V), it's horrifying. Star Wars has some great moments, but I dunno, it's just not really my thing. I hate Phantom Menace, but there are two Star Trek movies that were notably worse, 5 and 9.

And again, I'm nowhere near a fan of the last three Trek series. I used to be a huge fan back in the NG days, but now, Star Trek is little more than an occasional curiosity to me. Thus, my criticisms on Star Wars are because I find it lacking in many ways as a series itself, not because I like Star Trek better.

Whatever, that's your opinion even though you are ignoring most of the facts.

And have you seen any Enterprise eps this season? With the new writers and producers they got on board for season three, it's been TNG-good for a lot of the episodes.

Star Wars vs Star Trek - A Black Falcon - 13th September 2004

This season? Uh... do you mean last season, with the Xindi? Unless the new season has started? I didn't notice... Anyway, I saw some of last season's eps and they were okay. Definitely better than the previous years. And the removal of ... who was it? Either Braga or Berman left, anyway, and was replaced... that should help the franchise. But I don't see it making another year, sadly. :(

Of course I like Star Wars more, but Trek is great too...

As for the Jedi, yeah, we knew that not everyone could learn to use the Force so there had to be some kind of explanation for it that accounts for that, and midichlorions do that well. So yes, it makes it more realistic.

Remember, in fantasy and sci-fi realistic doesn't mean 'our world realistic', it means 'realistic by the rules that govern the universe in question'.

Star Wars vs Star Trek - OB1 - 13th September 2004

Whups, yes I meant last season. There were some really good episodes. Did you see Similtude yet??

Star Wars vs Star Trek - A Black Falcon - 13th September 2004

No, but I heard it was good... I saw some of them, but not that one. :(

Star Wars vs Star Trek - OB1 - 13th September 2004

Then you can't comment on season 3's quality.

Star Wars vs Star Trek - A Black Falcon - 13th September 2004

I saw a bunch of episodes from that season, though... okay, maybe half at best. But more than one or two or something. :)

Some were just as stupid as previous season eps too, you know... it wasn't ALL better.

Star Wars vs Star Trek - OB1 - 13th September 2004

Oh yes it was.

Star Wars vs Star Trek - A Black Falcon - 13th September 2004

What was that really stupid one... 'Rajin'? With the alien who seduces everyone on the crew! So dumb...

Star Wars vs Star Trek - OB1 - 13th September 2004

I didn't see that one.

Star Wars vs Star Trek - A Black Falcon - 13th September 2004

Early in the season.

Star Wars vs Star Trek - OB1 - 13th September 2004

Well the first few episodes weren't that great.

Star Wars vs Star Trek - Darunia - 13th September 2004

They need to make Enterprise more like classic Trek. Drop the Politicall Correct we-love-aliens, and get some ass kickin' action.

Star Wars vs Star Trek - Weltall - 13th September 2004

I'm ignoring your take on them and trusting only my own. After all, why should anyone's insight but my own matter to me? Especially when it's something I'm not terribly interested in anyway?

I have never seen so much as a single episode of Enterprise.

You see that's just the thing, you don't care about it so you're fine with ignoring all of the facts. And yes I mean facts, not opinions.

Do yourself a favor and d/l the season three episode "Similtude". If you don't like that episode you won't like any of them. It's a good one.

Star Wars vs Star Trek - A Black Falcon - 15th September 2004

Enterprise isn't the best, but attacking it without ever watching it, Weltall? Wha...
