Cant see the image GR! Imageshack suckles on my dew covered balls!

TODAY IS TEH MEGATON!!!111

DJ I seriously doubt that 'Gumshu' is based off the same franchise of the original NES game Gum Shoe, that would be odd with the inset title of 'Bloody Afternoon' :D

If this is real, then this is the 'GTA clone' that Miyamoto hinted at last year. He even said he's always been impressed with how much freedom the GTA games give you and he'd like to experiment with that idea.

the show should start at around 9 PM (florida time)

It's a screencap of Nintendo's press page saying that Dragon Quest is "EXPLODING" onto the Revolution. No idea if it's real or not though.

I dunno, it would make sense. The show is setting up right now and getting everything ready for the press, so i'm sure some leaks are bound to happen up until the actual opening of the show, which is 4 and a half hours from now.

There's a rumor floating around that the Revolution will be using te GC controller for most of its games with the Rev controller as an 'option' for developers. Strange...

There's also rumors that say because the Rev stand is slanted, the system will actually be projecting images. In other words, no TV needed. Now people are saying the images I posted above are actually coming FROM the Rev that is projecting it on a screen. I'm throwing a bullshit flag on that one but we'll see. I've seen digital projectors for as little as 200 bucks but I seriously doubt Nintendo would go for something that needs a large blank wall or screen and absolutely no ambient light in order to function.

There's a LOT of rumors floating around.

They've said it also can be flat (horizontal), so no.

Oh sorry, my mistake. I did one of those inappropriate peer 2 teen choice behaviors or something... I thought you were referring to the Wars series...

Oh, that's definitely a load of crap. No way would Nintendo use a medium that can only be used by a small percentage of gamers.

Countdown to Revolution: Iwata's speech at TGS - Dark Jaguar - 15th September 2005

Well, it's not limiting because the projector would be IN the system, so everyone would have it.

But, that would be VERY expensive, and not worth it. What do you really get out of a projection aside from a large screen? Also, you'd have to stick it in the middle of a room. Also, you would need to clear out an open surface to actually shine the projector on to. Why not just use the TV? Yeah, that would save a lot of money, heck, isn't that why EVERY SINGLE CONSUMER DEVICE tends to use the TV if it's possible, except the PC?

I'm not even going to humor a claim like this one. I label it what Pen & Teller tend to label a lot of nonsense. (Not to say I won't accept evidence to the contrary, I'm just saying I would be surprised.) But, no matter. As small as it is, I'd say a more likely option would be some sort of flip top screen accessory and battery pack to attach to the thing. I wouldn't get it, because they tend to be more expensive than the systems they are made for, but it would be a lot more interesting a solution than just some projection screen. Those are over rated...

Well, Nintendo still hasn't shown any games at TGS for Rev. But atleast we finally got to see the awesome controller.

Countdown to Revolution: Iwata's speech at TGS - Great Rumbler - 16th September 2005

I want to see some games. :(

Countdown to Revolution: Iwata's speech at TGS - A Black Falcon - 16th September 2005

We'll see them eventually... Revolution is still a ways off, sadly, and it's not like some screenshots will make it arrive any sooner... I know, there are all the PS3 and X360 shots out there, but I at least don't feel we need to see them right now.

Tech specs would be really nice, though...

Countdown to Revolution: Iwata's speech at TGS - Smoke - 16th September 2005

I just want to see Mario running around and jumping on the Revolution. You know Miyamoto's come up with a control scheme that works flawlessly with this new remote controller.

Countdown to Revolution: Iwata's speech at TGS - Smoke - 16th September 2005

Some good ideas in this thread. I especially like the idea of a next-gen Mario Paint 3D modeler program.

But then there's the people with no imagination.

-1 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!

Countdown to Revolution: Iwata's speech at TGS - Dark Jaguar - 17th September 2005

I expect the new Mario game to really use this flawlessly. Super Mario 64 DS may have had a terrible control scheme, but that was a game that is not really made in any way to use the touch screen. Meteos, Kirby Canvas Curse, the myriad of TBS games we can expect in the future of the DS, THOSE are games specially designed to take advantage of what a touch screen can do. RPGs could also work well if done right. I'm thinking that in FF3, battles will all be done via touching a command and then whatever you want to do that command to (where applicable). It would be a nice intuitive system I'd think. I also think that the menus will likely be driven the same way.

An analog stick would have helped if Nintendo was planning on bringing N64 games to the system, but for original games specially designed for the DS? The touch screen works great.
