Quote:While it has not been confirmed by Nintendo of America according to retails Nintendo is to release a new 'bonus disc'. The disc will be offered to those who pre-order Mario Kart: Double Dash.

The disc will apparently contain playable demos and possible video previews of GameCube titles.

Getting free stuff is cool.

Good news about Double Dash from the Magic Box:

Quote:Nintendo mentioned that the game speed will be twice as fast as the demo shown in E3 back in May.
Yay! Now only if they'd add Mario Kart 64 to the disc...
That's not very likely, but it would be cool.
Yeah thanks, Dream Crusher.
Good to hear that they are fixing Mario Kart because of the comments at E3. And free stuff is always good. Yeah Nintendo! Link
Hopefully the disc will have a demo of Crystal Chronicle.

Don't be so sure. Need I remind you, nay sayer, that every track from the original Mario Kart could be unlocked in MK: Super Circuit?

Well? Need I?
Yes! You needn't!

Well, they MIGHT, but nothing in the quote leads me to believe that this will be anything more than a demo disc. However, MK64 may be unlockable in the actual game.

Eegads man that'd be awesome. No one has the creative mind to do such a thing though.
Yeah, it's not like Nintendo ever gave away a free Nintendo 64 port with the pre-order of a Gamecube game... Erm
I don't see much of a point. While OOT is different enough and is in fact a chapter in the story besides, MK64 is pretty much just a lesser version of this upcoming game. Why toss in Super Smash Bros with Super Smash Bros Melee for instance, or F-Zero X with F-Zero GX? Too much effort for something no one will really appreciate like the OOT port (and yes, it does take recoding the game for the new hardware, more effor than just including demos of games already designed for the system).
I don't think anyone here realistically expects MK64 to be included with the game, but it would be nice.
Yeah, more is always better than less. I honestly don't care though.

I'm still waiting for Nintendo to do the inevitable and sell OOT for GCN on it's own.
I do, since I lent MK64 to my niece two years ago and still haven't gotten it back. :S

Lightning never strikes twice, merde-pour-cerveaux.
Is that why Miyamoto said that the never-released Star Fox 2 might be given away as a pre-order deal for Star Fox Armada? :stupid:

Wait no longer. I've gone to plenty of game stores and seen the leftover copies of OoT being sold for 15 bucks.
Darunia you silly person, lightning not only DOES strike twice (are there actually people who still believe this very old myth?), but it PREFERS to strike twice!

Lightning doesn't strike PURELY at random you see. It always takes the easiest path. If it struck one time, that prooves that that one time, it was the easiest path. If nothing changes, it's very likely that it will STILL be the easiest path. This is why certain skyscrapers get struck with most of the lightning blows during a storm, because it does in fact strike twice in the same place. Darunia, the old adage wasn't even true in Looney Toons! They always got hit by it twice in a row after reading it in some ridiculous boy scout's surivival guide.

Oh and Darunia, playing dead isn't the solution for a lot of bear attacks :D. If the bear is actively hunting you, you just made the job easier. Heck, they know you were alive a few seconds ago, and that's what they usually eat anyway, dead things that were alive a few seconds ago (though the death is usually by their bear hands). Playing dead works in some very limited situations, like when the bear is attacking you not because it's hungry, but because it's defending it's cubs for instance and wants to eliminate the threat.

And Darunia, feel free to swim directly after eating a hearty meal. You won't cramp up just because you are in water. Yeesh, people jog all the time after eating but for some reason it's swimming that causes the cramps... People need to think about this stuff...

That's not really Ninteno selling the pre-order disks, but the stores selling the leftovers. I'm still expecting Nintendo to print many more copies of the game and sell it as it's own game for full price like the corporation they know they are.
I saw TRU selling the OoT GC disc for $70. :S

Oh and did you know that you can't catch a cold just from staying outside in the cold, and you can't get sick from staying out in the rain? Well except for extreme cases like pneumonia, but that's something else entirely. Also, chicken soup doesn't help you get better from a cold any more than hot water does.
Best Buy is selling the GC demo disc for $40! Yeah, the demo disc!!
I know, how insane is that??

I look every time I go to a game store, but haven't seen a single copy of it yet... I want it! Bad!

Oh yeah, and I got the (first) demodisc at Kay-Bee for $10... it was worth the money. I want more demodiscs, for sure...
Holy crap am I good at predicting stuff or what!

Quote:Note: this is unconfirmed... that would mean it's RUMOR, and not fact:

In the latest EGM, the "Q-Mann" rumor column reports that a bonus disc will be included with Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. This disc is said to contain a conversion of Mario Kart 64, which would be a very cool bonus, to be sure.

The game is slated for a November 18th release in the US, so there's still time for this news to be confirmed. As soon as we know, we'll let you know.

Wow, I hope this is true so that I can give a big fat "I TOLD YA SO" to DJ and Darunia. :D
That would be really cool, and save me the like $20 it would cost to buy that game for N64... :)
Hopefully that turns out to be true. Getting MK64 for free would be an awesome bonus.
