The GBA seems to be doing very good, but the hardware sales do take into account both the GBA and the SP.

N-Philes
Wow, Wind Waker has about as many units since its release as any one of the GBA Pokemon games. That's pretty impressive.
Impressive...and yet very, very sad.
Well the GBA's userbase is over three times that of the Gamecube's and Pokemon is the Gameboy's biggest seller, so it's not too shabby.
Yeah, but it should be more than that.
Better than any other GC game released so far, I think. Some of the launch titles might have done better.
Right, I think Mario Sunshine MIGHT have sold more than that and I'm pretty sure that SSBM has.
Sunshine sold poorly for a Mario game.
Seems about the same as its been for some time... GC not doing too well, GBA doing great...

Oh yeah, and considering that the GBA has 3x more users Zelda selling almost as well as a Pokemon game IS pretty good.
The GC isn't doing THAT bad. It's only slightly behind the Xbox.
Not in terms of software.
GC had 3 games in the top 20 and X-Box had two... X-Box just had a major title release (KOTOR) and GC didn't.
Uh, yeah, and where were they placed on the chart? The X-Box games are at #2 and #3, while the GC games are at #12, #17, and #20. Not even on the top 10.
But given what those five games are, I'd fully expect the two X-Box ones to sell better...
Mario Golf was a big seller on the N64, and the other X-Box game on the top 10 is also on the Gamecube, but nowhere on that chart.
You know as well as I that Cube sports games just don't sell.
And that's one of the reasons why they are in third place.
Exactly.
Yeah, that's one of many things bringing down the Cube...
