YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! According to ign ps2's latest rumors article, Square-Enix is planning on releasing one more PS1 game and it very well might be compilation disc with Final Fantasy 3 and SD 3!!

Quote:Final Fantasy III and Seiken Densetsu 3 on PS one?

Early this summer at Square-Enix's second financial results announcement, the mammoth RPG company made public its intent to create one last PlayStation game.

IGN has consistently hammered away at Square with questions about this game, and though no information has come from Square-Enix itself, we have gathered enough information from sources close to the company about what it very well could be.

Additionally, we believe that the final game is a compilation disc of these two games, which will include Final Fantasy III and Seiken Densetsu 3 because of these two reasons: These are the only two games of both series not released in the US and they are the only two games not to be remade since their original publication.

Wow, what awesome timing. I just got Legend of Mana in the mail today and I'm having such a great time with it that I started thinking about how great it would be if Square released SD 3 in the U.S. I've also wanted FF III for a long time, so I really hope ign is right!
I think to celebrate their merger they should release a disk with an RPG from Enix and an RPG from Square

I didn't check that thread because it was about Front Mission. I don't care about Front Mission.

So suck it! Hump
Front Mission is cool, though.
That would be very cool... as I've said plenty of times, SD3 rocks.

I wonder if the translation would be as good as the fan one in the translated rom... :)
Still just a rumor, but let's put that aside for now and act as though it's confirmed :D.

Okay, what should they NAME SD3 when it comes over herE? Sword of Mana is taken, as is Secret and Legend.

What can this be called so it sounds cool and maintains the US naming method? From what I understand, the game involves stones as a central part of the story (probably like the seeds in Secret of Mana). Thus, how does Stones of Mana sound? Since ABF has played the game, he can tell us if this would actually fit.
Stones of Mana?? Chuckle
You could have just said it didn't sound too good to you. You didn't have to laugh at me...
Hahaha.... oh man....

I'm sorry.

But...

"Stones of Mana"

Chuckle

Why not just call it "Mana Rocks!"?
Sorry, but it sounds dumb... :)

SD3. Its a prequel to SD2 (Secret of Mana), actually... its also got 6 characters to choose from. In the beginning you choose which one is your main character and which two will be your secondaries... the others are in the game, but not as playable characters. Which gives it lots of replay value, as each person (as the main character, secondaries impact it less of course)'s quest is somewhat different... as for the name I don't know.

Sword of Mana's a okay name. But all the games have swords so its not like its super unique... I just want FFA's great music (in an improved form of course, but with the same (mostly sad) feeling to it... like the main menu music. It's depressing... but good...) and sad storyline preserved. With more stuff, of course. :)

I'm just worried because remakes inevitably change a lot, and for people who really liked the original form it can often be seen as bad change...
Because stone sounds more legendary, like "Romancing the Stones". I suppose you think that was a stupid title as well. Probably most do, I dunno...

Prequel? But from what I've read all the Secret of Mana games take place in their own seperate world with just the basic theme linking them together.

In any case, what name would you consider for it? I know it involves classes as well. Jobs of Mana sounds VERY stupid though. I heard there's fairies involved, something like Navi always following you around. Fairy of Mana also sounds stupid. Magic of Mana? Well, it's certainly better than the other two :D, but not by much. The whole "of mana" thing is flawed it seems, too easy to run out of good sounding names....
No. The Mana series is, unlike FF, a coherent series... I know I've said that before and its still true now. :)

Now I'm not sure how Legend ties in, either in chronology or story or anything, but as for the first three games, SD1 (FFA/Sword) is the first game. SD3 is next, with SD2/Secret coming quickly after it (SD3 was a prequel set soon before the start of SD2...). Sure, each game is unique and has a different world, but enough plot themes connect them that you can tell they are all in the same area... specifically, the Mana Tree. Its central to the whole series... the different games are really episodes in the story of the Mana Tree, I'd say.

As for the faries, they are farie spirit things that have been taken prisoner by the badguys (somewhat varied depending on your main character) which you have to rescue in the game. Eight, I think?
How about "The Prequel to Secret of Mana and the Sequel to Sword of Mana and uh, Legend of Mana takes place after all of them, I guess"?

That's pretty catchy!
Two thumbs up!
Or how about "Secret of Mana 2"?
