But only GBA games.

Quote:Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge was revealed a long time ago, but once Microsoft took over Rare things got a little hairy. Good news for Nintendo fans that still want some Rare games. Some time ago we passed along to you that Rareware would be using THQ to release its GBA games that are in development. This turns out to be correct as EBGames now lists Banjo-Kazooie for GBA with THQ as the publisher. The release date is September 15th, 2003. We also told you before that Rare changed Diddy King Pilot into Banjo Pilot, so we'll watch for that and other Rare GBA titles.

Good news for people who want Rare games and don't have an Xbox [considering Rare's upcoming Xbox games it's probably good news for people who DO have an Xbox ;)].

Not exactly sure why you don't like what's coming up. I thought you were one of the people who liked Conker's Bad Fur Day. Also, I still am interested in Kameo.

In any case, this is old news. I mean, it was revealed only a few days after the Rare thing was confirmed that they would still be making GBA games. Not only that, it's also officially on Rare's website (what, no one here visits any more? Scribes is back up!).
I don't read Scribes anymore. It's depressing. I knew Rare said they would still release Grunty's Revenge and DKP when they were first bought out by M$, but it's been so long and we had not heard anything since so I was beginning to doubt. I'm glad to hear that at least BK is still in the works. Hopefully they'll release Banjo Pilot soon as well.
What about Sabrewolf?? Geez, this is getting really annoying. I've been looking forward to these GBA Rare games for what seems like forever.
That's cool... nice to see those games will come out.

Oh, I played some of Banjo-Tooie yesterday. I had actually only played 2 hours of it since getting it last December... now I'm over 5 hours. I now have 14 jiggies, too... I unlocked levels 3 and 4 by doing the puzzles but don't know where they are yet (or if I can get to them...)... maybe I need to play more of levels 1 and 2...

It plays VERY similar to all the other Rare N64 platformers, but that's not really a bad thing. :)
Quote:Not exactly sure why you don't like what's coming up. I thought you were one of the people who liked Conker's Bad Fur Day.

Actually, I haven't really played Conkers that much, but I ever want to I can play on the N64 [the way it was meant to be played]. The whole online addition to Conker's Xbox means nothing to me since I have 56k.

Kameo: It looks like it could turn out to be just a very average game, that's from the preview that EGM had of the E3 version. But, many things can change between now and, what, Q2 2004?

And Grabbed by the Ghoulies: Well...what can I say?
GBTG... That's even an unwieldy acronym! Nothing like the amazingly wordlike KOTOR for instance. I know nothing about that game, as a result I have no opinion, which as a result means I'm currently not interested. Yes, what can one say indeed.

Oh yes, there is also Perfect Dark Zero, which Rare's site has FINALLY confirmed IS being made (as though the anime looking renders just made themselves up anyway :D), but they aren't revealing ANYTHING except that it's STILL in the discussion or planning stages. Then again, planning the program is actually a lot of the work. Once that's done it's kinda downhill except that one may find one's self constantly adding new stuff as they go along, like in a game for instance... Perfect Dark Zero may be released so late it would be best just to release it on the XBox 2. In fact, that would probably be the best launch title they could have. Halo could rule the first, and PD can rule the next system. Of course, this would be bad news for those who got an XBox FOR PDZ. Personally, it's THE FPS I most want, even though I know nothing about it except I loved the prequal. Time Splitters 2 wasn't bad or anything, but to be totally honest it felt more like expanding on Goldeneye then expanding on PD. Pretty much meaning that while it's a great game (save for the lack of a non-aiming mode sight, that was so annoying to lack...), I enjoyed PD much more. Of course, this does give one positive sign, that a number of Rare's talent is still IN Rare. Heh, though in the future MS may just decide to buy out Free Radical to complete their collection :D.
If PDZ is still in the planning stages then there's no way it'll be out before 2006.
Yes indeed :D.
I'm looking forward to Zoonami's mysterious Game Zero more than PD0, mianly because Martin Hollis is the head of Zoonami.

I loved Conker's BFD but the X-Box game is just going to be a stupid multiplayer deathmatch-only Live title with a prettier version of BFD included with it. I was hoping that it would have been a real sequel.

GBTG doesn't really interest me but I have hope for Kameo.
Joanna's desing looks...weird.

Quote:I'm looking forward to Zoonami's mysterious Game Zero more than PD0, mianly because Martin Hollis is the head of Zoonami.

Not to mention the fact that it'll probably be released several years before PD0.
Yeah, BFD is pretty much just another remake. I too am growing tired of them. That, and I never liked BFD anyway.

Is Game Zero an FPS? Sorry, I've heard just about NOTHING on that game except a long while ago that it was "being made" and never really knew WHY exactly I should be excited at this.

Yes, odd Joanna design. It'll be weird to see an FPS done all anime style.
I think Joanna's new design looks great. Certainly better than that Janet Reno look that she had in the first game.

Game Zero might be an FPS, I dunno.
Good news for people who want Rare games and don't have an Xbox

Well yea, but I want PD0, not that...and for the GC! Well, I DID want it anyway...not sure this new look for PD is gonna fly high. 'Course I said that for WW too, but I was kinda right with that, as WW wasn't as good as OoT...so...I dunno, I'm tired.
Yeah, Joanna Dark does look better in PD0 than in PD... at least based on that concept art, its a bit early to say much. :)

As for the GBA games, I don't know. None of them interested me a lot... maybe Banjo Pilot, though. DKR's flying part was fun...
At first I was psyched about the new Conker, but from what I've read about it so far there really is nothing to write home about. Even if I got an XBox I wouldn't have the time to justify getting XBox Live so I would only be playing a remake with a few additions.

And Grabbed by the Gholies has gotten trashed in previews so far. I'll wait and see, though, since Jet Force Gemini didn't get good reviews and it was an awesome game.

I haven't heard anything on Kameo for a while, but I haven't been keeping up on XBox news recently.
Grabbed by the Ghoulies actually looks pretty good if you're looking for a Battletoads-style beat-em-up. Although if's there's no multiplay I won't even consider purchasing it.
I SO miss co-op multiplayer! It's only in FPS games any more these days, and that SUCKS! I LOVED playing games like Battletoads with siblings and friends. And, where did the alternating multiplayer of platformers go? That's always fun too. It's like single player/multiplayer, and I don't care if they didn't think it was fun, I did! SMB3 did it best though, since there was the fun of multiplayer battles between levels. It also had the awesome funosity of forcing you to decide whether you should beat that level just so the other person can nab the powerup in the mushroom house or wait for them to. Sure, while they were playing a level, you weren't, but the interaction aside from that made up for it. SMW even had that interesting life loaning thing about it. Bring that back Nintendo! I certainly hope it's put back into SMB3 in the remake. Otherwise, a whole bunch of mini-games that required two players on the same square will be totally absent!
Here are some nice new screens from Grunty's Revenge:

Boy, I can't wait until this comes out. Although that means that I'm going to be even more broke in Setpember.... blast.
A few games have cooperative multiplayer... not many, but a few. I know Ikaruga has it, for example. As for games I have... hmm... uh, Extreme-G 3 has a multiplayer campaign mode, as does Battletanx: Global Assualt. Not sure about others.

Oh, and the Ninja Turtles game will have it...

And of course the FPSes Halo and Serious Sam, but I don't have those games...
The style they did this game in seems to allow for almost everything the fully 3D game could do aside from camera movement. Certainly should be interesting, assuming I haven't become TOO jaded about collecting games :D.

FPSs I already mentioned as the last bastion of co-op. Yes, you are right, some games still have it, like Ikaruga for instance. However, that's a game that's an homage to the old school anyway, so it's expected. Then there's the genre I forgot, the 3rd person vehicle smashy smash genre, like Battletanx.

Ah, Ninja Turtles, that'll bring so much back to us. The loverly street bashing for no good reason at all against people who have NO decent excuse fighting you genre, plus 4p co-op!
XG3 is very rare in being a modern racing game with a cooperative campaign. :)
That IS rare!
On that note... the old Game Boy racer Super RC Pro-Am has a cooperative campaign. Just link up two copies and it plays both of you in the main game. Just like the game itsself, no silly options screens to go through... just plug in and hit start. :)
Sorry OB1, but according to IGN it seems that Zoonami has specifically stated that Game Zero won't be an FPS at all, but instead is supposed to be an original type of game, in space.
FPS or not I want it in my hand RIGHT NOW!
Ah well. FPS or not it should be good.
IGN has posted some bad news and some good news. The bad news is that Rare's GBA titles aren't coming out until early 2004, but the good news if that Rare has announced a Mr. Pants game!! I'm dead serious! MR. PANTS!!
Some boxart and even more new screens, courtesy of IGN:

Mr. Pants eh? Last game he appeared in was Jet Force Gemini, or was that the first? Eh, likely both. Amazing he's taken on such a popularity since then he's getting his own game.
Rare's claime to fame in my eyes was it's outstanding, addictive FPS'...GE and PD, of course. Without any FPSs, Rare isn't the mythically wondrous developer it was in the N46 era, not to me anyway.
What about games like Blast Corps, Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Jet Force Gemini, Conker's BFD and Diddy Kong Racing? All great titles.
Oh crap, I read ign's article wrong. Only Banjo Pilot, Sabre Wulf and It's Mr. Pants are scheduled for release early 2004, but Banjo-Kazooie is coming out on the 15th of next month!! YAY!!!
Looks pretty good...
Mr. Pants!?!?! I'm very frightened.
Isn't that just the coolest thing in the world?
So, what kind of game is it supposed to be?
....

a... pants game...

....

Dunno
So, it is like a game that simulates wearing pants, or like pants shopping?
I think it's a game where you make tuna salad.
Ah, I've always wanted a game like that.
So have I!

--wow! A thread that reached two pages without me and ABF arguing!
I would quickly point out that usually when you two get into arguments there are NO other posts aside from you two, pretty much meaning you are only making the board more active for you two specifically.
Nobody is stopping you punks from posting!
I want the Mr. Pants game!
I want the pantsname guf...dim....
