Quote: Square Enix announced they are currently examining the sale decisions of Final Fantasy III. The game was originally scheduled to release on WonderSwan Color, Square Enix mentioned that are interested to port the game to GameBoy Advance.

What's to consider? It'd sell 100 times more on the GBA!
They have to consider whether or not they want to make lots of money. It's a tough choice!
Haha, I already posted this story, twice, that they confirmed they WILL. Then later, seems they recalled that announcement. Now it seems like they are deciding they like money again. Looks like they are going to release it on both systems. I would have thought if they were to release it on the Wonderswan, it would at least be the new Crystal for the better sound anyway. In any case, should they make it for da swan color and port it to GBA, hopefully they will have the good sense to update the sound quality. They did so when they ported the remakes of FF1 and FF2 to PS1 anyway.

Well, you know, the more money they make the more taxes they pay...
I was really excited when I first read the headline, then my excitement faded a little when I relized you were talking about III not VI
6 ported to GBA would also be nice, but since I already own not one but two copies of that game, and 3 hasn't ever even been released in the US, you can see which one I lean towards :D.
If I want to play Final Fantasy 6 I'll just play it on the SNES, as it was meant to be played!
I want all of the FF games on the GBA because I spend most of my time outside of my house, so I play my SP more often than I do any of my other consoles... unless of course a big console game is released (like WW or KOTOR).
I really would rather they didn't port them all, because if they aren't spending time and resources porting games I ALREADY OWN to the system, then they are spending them on NEW games or ports of games never released in the US! That's just good all around.
I love these SNES ports, but if I had to choose between ports and new games, I would of course choose new games. But the ports are usually handled by smaller, less experienced developers, so it's all good.

The first six on GBA would be nice. I don't think VII and above would be very good on GBA though.

I agree though that III should be released on GBA. America needs III. I played a translated ROM of it once and, while it's rather primitive, it's quite possibly the best of the NES Final Fantasies, at least in my opinion. Not to mention it's the only FF not released in America.

I don't have FF6 on SNES or PSX, but I have played a ROM of the SNES version and beaten it, and I'd have to say that it's one of the best Final Fantasies.
Yeah, FF6, while indeed a very easy game (the only FF easier is likely FF7, excluding Mystic Quest of course), it's still a very fun one. The last half of it is indeed an open book letting you go to wherever in pretty much whatever order you want, OR just go and beat the game if you can with just 3 characters. It also had a nice duel-main-character thing going on. Some say there was no main character and all were equally represented, but that's clearly not true. Gogo, Umaro, and Mog have pretty much NO story. Gau, Shadow, Strago, and Relm have story but it's not a main focus througout the game. There are ones with higher focus, like the Figero brothers, Cyan, and Locke, but they still aren't focused on througout the game. Only two have focus throughout their parts of the game. Terra has total story focus throughout all of the World of Balance, and Celes has primary focus throughout the World of Ruin. Thus, I consider these twin main characters, with the story changing focus midway through. Nice job I'd say.

To be honest, my 3 favorite FF games are FF6, FF7 (yes, I know I said it's even easier than FF6, but there are some challenging moments missing from FF6 like the WEAPONs, and it's got hte same all around fun feeling I got playing FF6) and FF9 (FF8 I do enjoy, though I'm one of the few who actually does because I actually does, but FF9 actually managed to capture that FF6 feel again, plus adding the lovely scenario select system). This may change when Crystal Chronicles comes out.
*crosses fingers and hopes that, someday, FF IV will be ported to GBA*
Yeah, my favorites would have to be FF6 and FF7 for their memorable characters, intriguing storylines (both involving corrupt governments much like our own), and fancy music and scenery. Hell, I'm willing to burn an entire CD just to put FF6 and FF7 music on it. Actually, I had an FF CD for a while until suddenly disappeared into thin air. FF9 was good, though its storyline was a little below average for a Final Fantasy. Still, it had Vivi. That earns it some major points in my book.

EDIT IN RESPONSE TO EDENMASTER'S POST: And yes, who can forget the memorable moments of FF4? It had to be the first of the exceedingly good Final Fantasies. I'll never forget May 5, 2002... the day that I beat FF4! (Yes, I marked the days I beat certain FFs.)
FFVII was the first FF game I ever beat (I was never really into RPGs back in the NES/SNES days), but I do like VI a bit more. I also liked FFX quite a bit because of the great battle system, but I hated how linear it was. VIII and IX I liked, but never bothered to finish them since it was pretty much just more of the same (more of FF1-6). I really got sick of the FF1-IX battle system halfway through VIII.
FF4 is indeed an amazing game, and it's great that the first time I played it was with it's original unaltered form on PS1 (well, you know what I mean). In fact, if ANY FF games deserve true sequals, it's that one. I'd certainly love to see Final Fantasy IV-2, continuing with what happened to Kain, and possibly to Golbez if he didn't go into a sleep. There are more untied loose ends in that than all the rest I'd say.
I know I know! Well, I suppose FFX does kinda ask for a sequal (though not in the linearity department :D, seriously, it's such a waste that a game that has such amazing gameplay in other areas, like an awesome turn based sport idea (I don't care what they say, that was fun) and the cool battle, and VERY cool level up system, had to suffer such... linearity as that, I mean it actually managed to kill the game). But as most people think, if ANY FF needs a true sequal, it's 4!
Spoilers will be typed in 1337 since I can't do EdenMaster's fancy stuff.

Yeah, and it should be interesting now with (3(1|_ 4/\/|) |2054 45 |<1/\/9 4/\/|) Q|_|33/\/. Though one revolving around Kain would be nice. And perhaps it could look a bit more into |2`/|)14 4/\/|) 3|)93'5 |23|_4710/\/5#1P. FF4 and 10 were about the only ones that left room for a sequal. A lot of people want a sequal to FF7, but I don't see any point to an FF7 sequal. What can the sequal be about if it's not about some random, stupid, out of the blue idea?
There's nothing fancy. I simply was an idiot for forgetting that what I was saying was spoiler data.

A spoiler is EASY.

Just type [ spoiler ] and finish with [ /spoiler ] but with no spaces.

Oh and, I couldn't translate your leet, but I will say this. The FF7 sequal was cancelled.

I assume you're talking about Blitzball! I'm not they, I love Blitz! I've just finished play a marathon run of blitzball and got a LOT of nice stuff for it. New Overdrives for Wakka and the final ingredient for activating Wakka's Legendary Weapon!

The Sphere Grid is incredible, thanks to the character advancement possibilites, my characters are amazing! Auron is hitting for 99999 (his Legendary Weapon is active) on EVERY HIT, not just occasionlly strong ones! Wakka and Tidus are well on their way to comparable strength. Lulu knows every Black Magic spell, too!

I'm not stopping until my party CANNOT be stopped!
Blitzball sucks ass.
*Commands Wakka to throw his Legendary Weapon blitzball at OB1, causing well over 50,000 damage to OB1. He turns to pyreflies and disappears*

No, you suck ass ;)
....

I don't think I have...
You may wanna check.
I did. And the answer is no.
To tell you the truth, I never really liked Blitzball myself. The rules aren't that complicated, it's just the fact that you're given the worst team in the game. I have never even once won a game of Blitzball because it's just too freaking impossible! I party like it's 1999 everytime I simply score a goal! They make the other teams overly skilled and give your team limited options due to their suckiness. It's even said in the game itself that the Besaid Aurochs is the worst team in Blitzball history. Perhaps if Blitzball was a bit more fast paced and actually relied on player skill instead of being turn based and relying on luck and experience, it wouldn't be so bad. But oh well, if any of you managed to enjoy Blitzball, good for you.
Geno, you should know that your players get more and more skillful as you win more and more. It's those first few wins that are the toughest. Don't forget to find people who want to be on your team. Weird thing to just go out into the open and ask people "wanna be on some sports team?", but hey, it's an RPG world. It does rely on skill as things go on, especially for the first matches. Once you really get decent players, you can very well become unstoppable.
I see... I've never won nor have I recruited any new characters, so no wonder I suck at it. :p Yeah, I'm sure once I get a skilled team, it won't be so hard. I figured it was just lack of experience. Unfortunately, if you have to win to get better, I don't have a very good chance. In the meantime, I'll just have to find skilled characters. Right now, the best character I've got is Tidus. I haven't even slightly altered the team since Tidus took over for Wakka. Rolleyes
I won several games of Blitzball early on, it wasn't very hard.

So in conclusion, I suck at Blitzball. :p
Yes.

My winning team:

Tidus: A given

Wakka: Yes Wakka! You can recruit him when he's standing on the bridge of the airship, for the laughable salary of merely 1 Gil per game.

Rin: The humble shopkeep makes one great midfielder, and he starts with the very useful Venom Pass II. You recruit him on the airship also.

Mep: A Monk of Yevon turned sports star! He hangs around Kilika Temple, and has great Blocking ability. To make him even more appealing, he comes equipped with the insanely useful Nap Pass III!

Botta: The only one of Aurochs I kept, he is a pretty effective defender.

Yuma Guado: You can find this guy in Guadosalam inside one of the houses. He is a great goalie, but his one disadvantage is you cannot teach him the technique Super Goalie.

I really never play Blitz until after I gather my whole team, that makes the inital games much easier once you have a more powerful team. With these guys, I'm totally untoppable in the Sphere Pool.

I've won the very first match you're forced to play against The Luca Goers. It's tough, but you get a Strength Sphere for your efforts!
