I just wonder exactly what these releases entail. Are they emulated ROMs? Is it a mix of emulated ROMs for most games, and the ports they did for the 360? Which version of Conker's Bad Fur Day are they putting on here? Will Battletoads have save states? These are pressing questions that demand answers!

As for Rare's recent games, well, Perfect Dark Zero was fun while it lasted, but had zero staying power and couldn't compete with the upcoming FPS games (certainly couldn't compete with the first's multiplayer). Grabbed by the Ghoulies is a fun little beat 'em up that should get more credit than it does. Kameo tried to do some neat things, but by and large was pretty forgettable (and was part of the recent trend of mandatory autosaving that really frustrates completionists like myself). Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts got a lot of praise from me for trying to mix platforming and driving into a single experience, but as the game dragged on, I realized that they actually failed to execute either element well, resulting in very boring levels and very boring races. Conker: Live and Reloaded is a great game by virtue of being an enhanced remake of an already great game, and it uses that amazing grass/fur rendering system Rare created for Star Fox Adventures. Actually, the very best post-MS Rare games are the Viva Pinata games, by virtue of being such a novel experience. I'd recommend those at least.

Other than that, this has pretty much every last Rare game that isn't tied to someone else's property. No Donkey Kong, no Goldeneye, , no Star Fox, and no Mickey's Racing, but it should cover pretty much everything else. Heck, just being able to play 60 FPS versions of Jet Force Gemini and Blast Corps makes it worth it. I notice Killer Instinct Gold (pretty much KI2 ported to N64) in there, but no SNES version of KI.
This collection is an amazing deal, release all those games digitally and they'd cost far more than $30...

It seems to be the N64 version of Conker, but maybe X360 Conker? But yeah, I imagine they're probably emulated roms.

Hmm, Rare's post-Nintendo games...

-Grabbed by the Ghoulies - If Rare was going to make a beat 'em up, couldn't it at least have been good? This game is kind of boring, I was pretty disappointed. It'd have been far better at as a 3d platformer, as I think it originally was going to be before they left Nintendo... I agree with the critics on this one, it's not that good.
-Perfect Dark Zero - This game is kind of average, sadly. It's not bad, but not that great either. It plays quite differently from the original, I wish it was more like the first PD... still, okay game I guess, but not as good as I was hoping.
-BK: Nuts & Bolts - I'm not all that far into the game, but so far I really like this. Yeah, I wish they'd made a platformer, and the levels that basically are 3d platformer levels that you do little in are weird, but this seems like a good racing game., and it's fun to drive around.
-Kameo - Great game! It's really too bad the sequel never got made. The game has great graphics and good gameplay.

As for the Conker remake, I haven't played it (and don't have it, just the original N64 version). I also haven't played Viva Pinata, though I have the first one.

This collection has a lot of Rare's games, but it's not everything -- Rare has more NES and Spectrum games that aren't licensed or in this collection, and KI and Battletoads in Battlemaniacs for SNES are also missing, for example. There are probably also a few more. I wonder if there's a reason why neither of those SNES games are in the collection... I mean, I can see why Battletoads Double Dragon isn't, it has a license that would cost extra, but Battlemaniacs? Why?

It also has none of Rare's handheld games; Rare has quite a few GB, GBC, GBA, and DS games. Some were Donkey Kong or other licensed games (the two Mickey racing games for GBA for example), but there are others that aren't, and no handheld games are in the collection. Still though, awesome collection.
Aside from this, here's a trailer for a girl and her robot dog.

Me: Dang it!
