Everyone's favorite Goron is back in town for the New Year!

Heap praise and tribute here.

Hello there! Nice to see you again. Come back sooner. :)
I know, but my imperial duties take me far and wide across the world... I'm glad to see this place is still active, though. How many regulars are we down to? Four?
Usually it's just Falcon and DJ these days. I lurk but never post anything. Can't remember the last time I saw Great Rumbler. That's pretty much it.
and toven i guess
It may not be Reddit, but there's at least a little pride to be had in the fact that, statistically-speaking, TC is necessarily one of the oldest active websites in the world. I'd guess that far fewer than .01% of websites in existence today are from before the 21st century.
That's true, and we should keep it going as long as we can! :)
... Actually, on that note, Tendo City celebrated its 15th anniversary a few months ago. Did we remember to celebrate?
No because we dum. Someone bake a cake and slice it up and mail a piece to... all three of us. :(
Glurge (What did this thing mean, anyway?)
It means glurge dude. It's written right there.
"Glurge" is that tripe your mother sends you when she gets a chain letter about a "touching story" involving a baby hugging a puppy and thus converting a soldier to christianity. Examples would be movies about little kids telling adults about heaven, or Will Smith literally giving his heart to someone to save her life.

Fairly well established word at this point.
Huh. No, I don't remember the word at all. It's not just some random made-up thing?
Don't feel bad Falcon, I didn't know that either. I remember learning the term from snopes years ago but I must have forgotten it.
I didn't know it was a real word, either. I thought it was a made-up DJ word.
...Can't it be both?
Semnat?
That one's not mine.
Was it Edenmaster who came up with that?
I thought it was OB1 and/or Grumbler.
Could be. I thought it wasn't OB1 though, though he liked it...
I thought it was OB1 himself, considering he got that studio he worked for to pick it as their name. It might have been someone else though.

I still wonder if OB1 and the rest at "Semnat Studios" ever even saw a single red cent from that game. My understanding is that with Wiiware titles, if games don't pass a certain "threshold" in sales, thems don git paids ™. I know Nintendo has officially changed that policy as of the 3DS and the Wii U, but from what I've read (most recently, from the developer of Retro City Rampage), that wasn't retroactive and Wii and DSi sales still work under the old rules. (Specifically, he claims http://www.polygon.com/2014/12/13/738704...op-wiiware that he still hasn't gotten a dime from them because it never passed the threshold, and that's a major reason he's not bothering with updating that version to DX.)

If Retro City Rampage never got that many sales (a game that has critical acclaim as an indie title), then Eduardo most certainly never did (I'm pretty sure this forum accounts for 40% of all sales, with web site reviewers accounting for another 40%). Reviewers weren't exactly ecstatic over it either... I can't help but wonder if everyone at Semnat soured over Nintendo due to that, and then one of them got gunned down and the rest turned into a team of mercenaries on an adventure for vengeance, THROUGH TIME! That should be their next game. I think I'll write that down... *writes it down* *sticks note on top of stack of abandoned notes* *weighs down notes with Darunia* Glad ta see ya back!
You're right, I was remembering wrong; OB1 did come up with Semnat. http://tcforums.com/forums/showthread.php?1368-Semnat

As for Eduardo... yeah, I suspect they probably didn't get anything from it; as you say there is a minimum sales requirement to make money from WiiWare games, and Eduardo wasn't exactly a prominent release likely to make that level of sales.
