- the team decided to resurrect the Xbox Star Wars Trilogy project for Wii
- the team salvaged the code and started bringing the game over
- the project was 50% done on Xbox
- all control schemes were supported, including GameCube controller and various peripherals
- you could even use the Wii wheel to control your X-Wing, using the balance board for pedals
- revamped content included speeder bike racing levels, third-person action sequences, and lightsaber battles
- lightsaber battles used 1:1 motion controls
- all-new graphics engine running at 60 frames per second
- the project was completed, but then cancelled
- cancellation is blamed on the financial crisis of 2008
- other publishers tried to help out
- unfortunately, financial hardship, legal snafus and budgetary restrictions killed the game
- Julian Eggebrecht, former president of Factor 5 loves the Wii U, but its unpredictable trajectory and licensing troubles in general make a new Star Wars Wii U game unlikely

Video conversation about the game: http://www.ign.com/videos/2014/10/10/mor...vc-podcast

Hmm... if the game was actually 100% done I'd think we'd have heard more about this game before and seen SOMETHING of it, so I don't know if I believe that or not, but while we knew this game was in development, I had no idea it'd apparently gotten so far along... it's definitely very disappointing. I mean, I'm not as sad about this games' cancellation as much as I would be for a new Rogue Squadron game, but still, I loved Factor 5, they were one of the best action game developers for years. I was very disappointed when Lucasarts and Nintendo refused to save them when they were going down, I think it was probably a mistake. Not publishing this game was frustrating too, of course; I had heard it was in development, the name was out there even if no pictures or videos of the game have ever been shown.

And on that note, as cool as hearing this information about the game is, I wish that this had come with screenshots and/or video too... I want to see what it'd have looked like! :(

Of course, what I really wish they'd done is gotten Lucasarts to back them at making an entirely new Star Wars game, but after the Lair debacle, I can understand why they were hesitant.

Video! And it looks great, of course. :( Stupid, STUPID Lucasarts...
