The horn seems very interesting. I'm looking forward to this, and frankly that bundle seems like a pretty good deal.
Yeah, it definitely looks great! Nintendo has clearly put a lot of attention in this game, and it shows. It's just kind of tragic that it seems to have come at the cost of all of their other racing game franchises -- because they've got nothing else in the genre so far on the Wii U, yes? I know that F-Zero, Wave Race, and 1080 all failed to make it to last gen, tragically, but at least there were three Excite (Truck, Bots, and Bike World Rally) games, and they were all good.

But this time... it's Mario Kart 8 or Mario Kart 8, it seems. Yes, I know that Mario Kart is now a HUGE seller, and this one should sell well too, but while I like Mario Kart a lot, I like other racing games too! Losing F-Zero and Wave Race is particularly painful, both of those franchises are so, so great...
Fair warning: if you were really good at older Mario Kart titles, you may just suck at the new one. Those who weren't too good before tend to be a lot better. Weird.

I wonder what the space baby thinks about all this.

Well, it looks like Mario Kart 8 is selling quite well and is giving the Wii U a boost... I'm not entirely surprised, the series seems to be one of Nintendo's biggest since the success of the Wii and DS ones. I only wish they'd make other racing games again too!
The game got a nice update a few days ago.

Version 2 adds in a stat checker, which is nice since "coins gathered" is how you unlock a lot of the things. It also lets you stick the mini-map back on the big screen. Nice, but oddly you can only add that minimap using the Wii U gamepad itself. No other controller will do. Fortunately, it does save this setting. Still, that seems like an oversight. It also generally saves your last picked settings. There's this free sponsored DLC. Yeah, real-world cars are a bit out of place in Mario, but on the other hand, one of these cars is basically the Monopoly car. You can't top that!

Anyway, they've got a good DLC plan outlined. 8 new courses, 3 new karts and 3 new drivers, per pack, and they're both pretty cheap. Frankly, this is the sort of thing I expect with DLC, so I have to give it some praise.

Here's Rainbow Road, with (terrible) lyrics.

... On the note of baby Rosalina, going by Mario Galaxy's backstory, how could she exist anyway? That's not really possible...

Also, it's always unfortunate to see anyone getting in to paid DLC. Oh, I know why they are, and I'm sure it's a great business decision -- people will buy that stuff -- but forcing more money out of people is annoying!
I get what you're saying to an extent, but frankly I WANT my games to be expanded as time goes on. Not the way, say, EA does it. However, Nintendo is doing this in the best possible way. I mean, these are REALLY good deals with the sort of content I want to see (mainly, new tracks). They're also not being withheld to be sold the day it comes out (a ripoff) but rather is content that was made months after the game came out. I think it's great.

Also, the backstory of galaxy doesn't really prevent a baby Rosalina. She was in fact a kid at one point.
