Is there another way to interpret the term "junky" I'm not aware of? I thought it only referred to drugs.

I've heard it used to describe a devotion to activities analogous to compulsive hard drug use which I assume was the idea here?

Even though the tourniquet is below the injection point in my little cartoon which does rather defeat the purpose of the tourniquet. Whatever!

I just love how the comic is both a parody and STILL keeps Nester acting in character.

Videogame addict, video game junkie, you hear the comparison sometimes for someone who really likes something...

Yeah, but even there it's still being used as a metaphor for drug use, as in "you play games so much it is as though you are addicted to heroin".
