Awesome season Red Sox... no one thought that you'd win the World Series back at the beginning of the year, and no experts thought that the Sox had a chance, but you proved everyone wrong and did it, and with a World Series win at home for the first time in 95 years! Just awesome. I'm very happy. :)

Also, I know this is from game one, but I don't think it's possible to look at this without laughing... Lol

Lol

(Note -- this is a moment after the pitcher (top) waved his hands, as if he was saying "I've got this ball." And then... well, you see what he did next: nothing. Lol
You really need to make the names of these threads more apparent. I keep accidentally wandering in by mistake!

That said, that image is bizarre. Did a random baseball just fall out of heaven or something? Are those two guys just getting ready for the game to start?
Nope, it actually happened during the game. Somehow they both had bizarre mental failures and let that ball drop for what was called a "hit". And the runner ended up on first base instead of being out as he should have been. Lol
OH WOW A NEW ENGLAND TEAM WINNING A CHAMPIONSHIP IN A MAJOR SPORT NEVER SEEN THAT BEFORE
Worst to first does not happen often, to say the least!

Out of 134 "experts" for major publications, only 9 thought the Red Sox would even MAKE the postseason. None of those predicted the Sox to win the division or win the ALDS, much less the ALCS or World Series.

Yeah, seriously surprising result indeed.
I don't know if this is a victory for the Red Sox or not, but it's definitely a victory for baseball - A-Rod was banned for a year. The arbitrator reduced his ban down to one full season, but that's a very significant win. The extra games weren't the main point, the one-full-season-ban was. And it's happening. That's great, people who cheat like that need to be punished. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/yankees...d-for-2014
