It looks an awful lot like that Tetra game, and why isn't it 3D??

Quote:Game Summary

The mission seems simple in this four-player competitive Zelda game: collect more Rupees than fellow players. But as players explore a massive world that spans both the Nintendo GameCube and the Game Boy Advance, they must team up to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. However, cooperative game play can be a daunting task when each person is looking out for number one! Pick up and carry rival players, use the boomerang to steal items, and prepare for heated competition with the countless items and enemies that define the Zelda series.
Features

*

Control the game by connecting one to four Game Boy Advance systems to the Nintendo GameCube (no Game Pak is required for the Game Boy Advance).
*

Explore cooperatively on a single television--or duck into the underground world within your Game Boy Advance to see what lurks below.
*

Work together with other players to defeat enemies that go back and forth between the Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance screens. Control enemies on the Nintendo GameCube by hitting switches on the Game Boy Advance screen with their swords.
*

Use strategy to find out where other players are on the Nintendo GameCube screen or where they're hiding in the caverns of the Game Boy Advance. While players are inside the caves or houses, they can see secret messages on the Game Boy Advance screen or perform actions without others knowing.

So no new 3D Zelda game? And no regular Capcom GBA Zelda?? What the fuck??!
OB1, be happy for what you are getting. What we are getting here is a good game... why are you so mad that they are making what looks like a great game?

And this looks like LTTP Link, not Tetra which has WW Link... maybe, anyway...
This better not:

A) be the 2nd Zelda GameCube game that Shiggy* was referring to.
B) cost a full $50.

*We are such nerds for referring to Miyamoto so often that we've shortened his name into a cutesy little nickname.
It better not be the second full NGC Zelda... but it could cost full price if its a full length Zelda quest. It could be... its not like this is a gimmicky-sounding game like Tetra... though it probably shouldn't cost full price. Unless it has a fully playable single player mode that doesn't need a GBA... which doesn't sound too likely.
I'm mad because this should be a GBA game, not a Gamecube one. If it's full priced then Nintendo is insane.
You are probably right there... it does look a lot like a game that really should just be on GBA. I guess they REALLY want to sell the link cable... and unless they do something great to make it worth getting at full price (like a real full single player game or something new...) it should be GBA-game-priced.

But it does look like fun.
Yeah it does.

But remember that we're getting this instead of a whole new single-player Zelda GBA game from Capcom.
Very true... and it is too bad. I like single player better when the alternative is multiplay that I won't play much, like this 'requires GBA' stuff!

It looks fun... for people with 3 friends with GBAs. That isn't me. So it better have a good single player game for me to consider it.
Yeah. I don't have enough Gamecube and GBA-owning friends.
This game looks cool. That said, this game should by all rights be on the GBA. I'm not seeing anything here that couldn't be done on the GBA alone. And I'm not just talking about the graphics either. The GameCube - GBA link up isn't necessary either as it could be done with just GBA's.

Whatever the fuck Nintendo's smoking, I want some.
I'd love to see a big Four Swords game for the GBA, but now we can't even have that. Isn't the point of the GBA to be able to play games anywhere? Now stupid Nintendo has strapped us to the TV again!
Nintendo's run by retarded chimpanzees...... with bad eyesight.
Indeed.
Trailer.

Oh, and Nintendo Media has evidently changed its password... :( and I don't know the new one. So I broke the image links. :)

Also... it looks like the game more than just graphically resembles LTTP...

Oh, Nintendo has lots more trailers than the ones I put in these posts... there's that FF:CC trailer, a Wario World trailer, Geist, Giftpia, etc...
This should have been a GBA game with optional Gamecube support.
Well... yeah. It looks that way so far at least. But I can hold out hope... :)

Either for more features or a cheap price, that is.
Hey ABF, remember that think I was talking to you about a week ago on msn? About Capcom maybe making the single-player Zelda GBA game that we want to badly in addition to GC Four Swords? Well according to Peer Schneider (from today's ign mailbox) they are!

Quote:More Zelda

So...what's the story? Was there ever another Zelda in addition to "Wind Waker" in the works, or was that all a rumor? "Smash Bros:
Melee" and "Wind Waker" have been the only Gamecube games worth playing
as far as I'm concerned, and the crowd back in my home crowd would
definitely rejoice if there were some seconds for Zelda action. What
say you, o IGN Cube?

[size=2]Peer responds: If there is another Zelda game in addition to Four Swords GC and Wind Waker, then it's way too early to tell. We certainly didn't get any hint or nudge from Nintendo that would make us believe that there's something in a state worth getting excited about. Is there another Zelda game in the works for GBA? Yep, Capcom's a busy company.[size]

YESSSS!!!
That's great news! It would be too bad if all they made were those Cube games...

New PCG screens of the game. Its looking more different from LttP now...
Yeah it actually looks like the GBA Four Swords mode now. I love the cool sketch-like art style that they're using.
It still looks like a SNES might be able to do it, but at least now it doesn't look quite as much like a blatant LttP clone, which is good, though it still shares the same overall graphical style. Oh well... Its still dissipointing, but looking a bit better. We'll see where it goes from here...
Funny how you're saying that when in this very thread you wrote:

Quote:OB1, be happy for what you are getting. What we are getting here is a good game... why are you so mad that they are making what looks like a great game?

So it goes from condemning me for saying that I'm dissapointed by the game to saying yourself that's it's dissapointing?? Sometimes I think that you argue just for the sake of arguing, and that you don't really have a strong opinion on anything, just as long as it's the opposite of someone else's.
Oh come on... read the thread! I was mostly agreeing with you that its dissapointing that this is what we are getting... of course I wish that this was 3d, and a full major-console Zelda game, and had a true single player quest! All of things would be nice... but that's not what we are getting, we're getting this.

It is dissapointing compared to what could have been... but its hardly a terrible looking game. Actually, it looks fun if you have the friends and the required hardware... and it does look like it'll have a new and decently lenghthy quest.

Do I wish it was on GBA? Of course! So far, I haven't seen anything that wouldn't have been doable there... but Nintendo loves to gouge us, and wants to sell connectivity, so I'm hardly surprised that it isn't and won't complain TOO much about it.

Oh yeah, and you used 'dissapointing' in a much ... stronger ... way than I did there, giving it quite a different meaning, I'd say.
No I didn't. I thought it was dissapointing because at the time I was under the impression that we were going to get it instead of a new GBA Zelda. Now that I know that's not true I'm not dissapointed at all and am really looking forward to it.
Ah. Well it looks like we're going to get a new GBA game, this, Tetra's Trackers, AND a new Cube game... that's a lot of Zelda! :)
I always keep thinking "Tetra's Crackers", and it makes me want to eat animal crackers.
I haven't had animal crackers in... a long time...
Yeah same here.

I'm a bit worried about Four Swords. The game looks like it'll be a ton of fun, but everyone is listing it as a four-player only title. There's no way I'm going to be able to get three other people with three other GBAs to play the game more than a few times a year. One or two other friends, no problem. But if it's four-player only I'm probably not going to get it. :(

I hope that there's either LAN play (so that we can play it online) or a good single-player mode, as I'm hesitant to get a multiplayer-only game. With the GBA version is wasn't a real problem since it was just the multiplayer mode of a single-player adventure, but if it's multiplayer-only that would seriously suck. IGN has it listed for a February 2004 release, so perhaps Nintendo will delay it and simply add it with the next single-player GC Zelda.... nah... I doubt that'll happen.
If its single-console multiplay only and requres GBAs I will not be buying it.
It took you over fifteen minutes to write that??
Huh? No... I probably loaded it in a tab while I was writing other replies, like I often do, though. :)
Ah.

Alright I asked around and it looks like you'll be able to play FS with just two people, but there probably won't be any single-player mode. :S
That's insane. And insanely stupid...
