I'm polishing up 5 [yes, FIVE] separate novels for immanent release on Amazon/Kindle publishing services. Things have just gotten to the point where I really want to start getting my name out there, get people to reading what I've written and maybe attract some attention. If not...well...I tried, better luck next time.

The first one I'm starting with is Murder at the End of the World, a little mystery novel with a dash of Lovecraftian dark fantasy for that extra bit of spice. It started life as an experiment, to see if I could craft a self-contained novel that largely takes place in one location and follow one character exclusively. Went with mystery because it was a genre I hadn't tackled before and wanted to test myself. Lovecraftian dark fantasy because, hey, who doesn't like a little of that in their life? It's a bit on the short side at 46k words, but it feels right so I'm not going to try to pad it out just for the sake of numbers.

Hopefully I can get the last few details wrapped up on my final edit and get this out there by the end of this week, maybe early next week. I am excite!

Also, read this, if you want:

That's pretty cool, you've talked about these for years but never let anyone read them...
Sounds pretty exciting! Grats on taking the next step, man.
You better put them on Google books as well, or I'll never speak to you again! :)
We'll see!
I've almost got a cover for my novel, just a bit more back and forth with the artist to get everything finalized.
Pardon me for asking, but did you seek out a publisher before making the decision to release them on Amazon? Regardless, this is quite a feat! And I hope you find an audience.

I have, yes, and got a grand total of zilch. I'm taking the initiative this year, plus I've got a lot of finished novels sitting around so it's not liking I'm going all in with this one book.
Prepare your monies and ebooks for Saturday morning. :)
And here's this:

I just bought your book, enjoy your 15 cents! Seriously $1? Some people at beaches pay a dollar to take a shit on the board walk.. I really think you could charge more.

Now get it on Google books so you can start making money on a bookstore that doesn't suck. :)

It's actually THIRTY-FIVE cents!

And I'm not Stephen King here, $1 is low but a good place to start out for somebody that no one has ever heard of before.

Books from no-name authors start at around $6 on Google books.. And people gladly pay for it.. I'm just saying.. Plus if you hop aboard the Google books bandwagon you get massive exposure to the Android community.. I mean why do you think Amazon made the kindle app for Android? Because about 15 people own kindles and about 900 million people own some kind of Android powered device.
More versions for those without a Kindle:

I refuse to pay a dime until I see a picture of Jonathon in a swanky red robe and a Sherlock pipe, beside a toasty hearth and book cases covering every wall.

If you can give me that, I'll carefully read and digest one of your novels and give you an honest opinion on it. Which is way more valuable than $1.

What do you say?
I don't have a fireplace. :(
You don't have any friends or relatives that do?
White trash honkies don't cotton to fancy city things like fireplaces. :(
Can you take a picture of you sitting on a rock and plucking a banjo in bare feet and a piece of hay in your teeth and a straw hat with overalls and a checkered shirt and a caption that says "I'ze a-good wit all them word-ems!"

This is an acceptable alternative.
Lol

Get a fire place, put your book on Google Books, steal underpants, ...., take over the world!
If I should ever own an ereader, I shall add your book to my collection first.

Or, if there's ever an audiobook version, I'm into those too.
I'm trying to get a bookshelf-ready version set up, should be ready by next week as long as everything goes as it should.
Using lulu.com?
Create Space, which is owned by Amazon.
Are your novels / stories available anywhere Weltall? I feel like you have a web page that you've plugged before but I never saved it.

Also, if so, does that webpage have your novelization of Silent Hill 2? I've always wanted to read that. Once I get my kindle started up (right now I'm waiting until I read through all the hard-copies of books I have), I'll probably take a peak at your stuff too, GR.
If you an't got one of them there fancy e-book things, just pick up the paperback:

$7.00 huh? Really? That's all your selling it for? The price of a soda and a bag of chips? My O'reilly books on .Net can easily run 60 or 70 dollars...

If people go into it thinking it's crap because they only paid $7 for it then that's what they will conclude. Don't sell your self to short, or daddy economics will eat your children, and poop your cat..

Lu Downs AWAY!

BTW, congrats on getting published I would love to see a picture of you holding your book (POST IT NOW! I WANT TO KNOW IT"S REAL!), even if you are screwing yourself in the wallet.
$7 is normal for a fiction paperback!

And Create Space doesn't require any upfront cash, they just take a cut off each book that's printed.

I'll snap a picture later and post it here.
Yeah, $7 or $8 is the normal price for a paperback.
