Now, the Zapper is a nice accessory, and actually has good game support. That's great. I do wish Nintendo had more first-party titles for it -- it's too bad that there's just one first party one on disc (the pack-in Link's Crossbow Training), and one more on WiiWare (Eco Shooter, I think it's called), but third party support is solid. It's got to be the most successful lightgun-shooter console in generations.

I do have one thing that confuses me, though. Um, so there's this cover for the place where you're supposed to wrap the nunchuck-to-wiimote cord... but you can't have the cover over that compartment on when you have the cord plugged in, because there's no outlet hole (going to the Wiimote) to let you keep the cover on while you have the cord wrapped inside. I don't get it.
It's a hunk of plastic. End of line.
Heh... true, but games designed for it can potentially improve accuracy versus just holding the Wiimote -- it keeps both the Wiimote and Nunchuck in a specific position, so then they could use both to get better accuracy than you'd get just with the Wiimote (obviously Wiimote+ support would make that irrelevant, but I don't know of any lightgun-style Wii games with Wiimote+ support, unfortunately). It probably also makes lightgun games easier than they would be with the wiimote alone...

Oh, and I was wrong about taht controller cord thing, but it is the case that there's nowhere really to put the strap, as long as that cover is on. I guess they assume you'll take it off before putting the thing into the Zapper? That's kind of odd...
