Also, it's taken almost nothing from Google's marketshare since it was introduced. Instead, most of its marketshare gain has been from Yahoo and minor, lesser search engines -- and given that Yahoo now uses Bing as its search provider, getting marketshare from Yahoo doesn't get Microsoft too much.

So yeah, wow, those are some big losses... I wonder how long MS will keep going on with them. At the moment anyway MS seems committed to Bing, regardless of losses.

It does seem so, yes.
Sorry, but when a search engine has gone beyond popularity and reached the point where it's entered the lexicon ("let's Google it"), it's foolish for anyone to try and dethrone that.
I once did a search for bing. Found it too.
