A new Pilotwings for GameCube? By Factor 5?!

Eurogamer

*Crosses Fingers*
Wow, PilotWings, and Factor 5 no less...that IS impressive. Seems like they've stereotyped themselves into a rutt of flight simulators...but I suppose its what they're best at. Any 3rd party support at this point makes me a happy Goron.
Do we need another crappy Pilotwings? Wasn't one enough? :(
What? Pilotwings on SNES and Pilotwings 64 were both really good games! A new one would be very cool...
I only played the SNES version. And because of that I'll never play another Pilotwings game. That crap was awful.
Uhh... because you disliked that (good) game you'll never play another game in the series even if its different? And by Factor 5? Erm
Wow, this is awesome news! Both Pilotwings games were fantastic (Wetall is stupid :P ), and it'll be amazing to see what Factor 5 does with it. Hopefully it won't be as tough as PW64. And bring back the biplane levels!

BTW here's an update from ign:

Quote:Reports have indicated that a playable version of Pilotwings GCN could be demonstrated at E3 2003. IGNcube, though, has heard just the contrary; that while the game is in development, it won't be debuted at the big show.

We contacted Factor 5 president Julian Eggebrecht for comment, but he had none. "We are working on a second game, yes, but no comment," he teased. "Not on who is publishing, or what platform -- no comment."

I did that with Army Men. Even if God Himself made a new Army Men game I wouldn't play it.
...even by Factor 5 ? What if they make it so that you shoot down TIE fighters in your glider or whatever the fuck it is?
But just because one game is bad, it doesn't mean a whole series is!
And PW is good!

Army Men. Tomb Raider. GameDay. Pilotwings.

Sure, they might be able to fix the suckage. But I doubt it.
OB1 the toughness of pilot wings 64 was its best part. you had to be perfect...i mean, sure you could swing in and land on the runway slanty to save time...but you'd get points taken off...so you'd have to floor it and loop around to make the runway straight in front of you for that 100%. you had to think about what you were doing, and take chances to try to get the big points.

man, i loved that game...almost got all gold medals...then i worked on gett 100% on all the missions...it was the only game i've ever really bothered to try and do that with.

anyway, i wouldn't have them lighten the difficulty at all.

and i also don't like the SNES pilotwings...although i only played it emulated and found it very difficult to play.
That's pretty cool news, but I really wish Factor 5 would make some other kind of game.
Let Weltalls preconcieved notions of an excellent series be his own mistake, and we should ignore all of his posts hereafter.

I'm looking forward to another Pilotwings, I loved the first two. Who remembers flying the helicopter on missions at the latter half of the SNES version? Incredible games.
I also got all of the gold metals in PW64, but I remember it being pretty damn tough.
Never played any Pilot Wings games myself, but Weltall I do suggest you at least try out PW64 before condeming the series entirely. If F-Zero is any gauge, I believe this series isn't like the rest of those you listed where the suckage does indeed spread across them all.

What I mean by F-Zero is that while I enjoyed the SNES version, it wasn't enough to really sell me on racers until F-Zero X, with true 3D gameplay, came out and really blew me away. I think maybe PW64 may compare with PW in that way, but as I said I base this on no actual evidence except that the 3-headed monkey over there told me so, having never played either game. I'll likely start out with the new GCN game, assuming it actually is being made.
That's a good comparison.
F-Zero on SNES is a great racing game, but I would agree its not on the level of F-Zero X... but for when it came out its as good as you can possibly expect. It was, after all, a launch game...
Indeed. Now let's get back to making fun of Darunia.
Hey, I made it into somebodys sig! Granted it's only Weltall, and they were words never said HERE, but they were, in a way, the first words I ever said Weltall. Ah, memories...he wasn't even called Weltall back when I said that!

Still, I've been quoted in a sig! W00T!
It's always fun to be quoted in a sig! Happy You Got Quoted In A Sig Day! *gives EM cake*

Pilotwings 64 was good. I really enjoyed the ultra light plane thing, but some of the other vehicles were not quite my thing. I'm sure Factor 5 will make this the best one yet.
Indeed. Now let's get back to making fun of Darunia.

Shit head.
Now I'm in OB1s sig too! Do I get another cake?

Oh, and Darunia? The correct way to spell it is without a space.

Shithead.
Hahaha, poor Darunia. He can never get it right.
I pity da fool what don't use proper grammer!
It's the Mr. T of DOOOOOOOOM!
Eek
*Declares formal state of war on EdenMaster; OB1*
Yeah I think you've done that a few hundred times already.
Darunia, as a a rule, declares war on anyone who insults him. Napoleanic complex, you understand.
I'm very well aware of that, but he's done it so many times already...
Yeah. It gets VERY old...
So does your's and OB1's bickering, but we love you anyway. :)
But that's not a saying.
It still gets old, though.
What? Do you expect one of us to suddenly decide that we don't wnat to defend our positions any more? Yeah... right...
If we didn't argue then there wouldn't be nearly as many posts here.
And the board's content would increase 20% in terms of quality.
We'd have half as many posts, and 2/3 less quality. So there. :p
The average quality of posts would probably go up by about 27.8%.
Oh is that so? I suppose we should all post like GR and just talk about exploding stuff.
My wars of glory, conquest, and hissy fits generally lead to %71.43% of all posting. I'm the one who makes the world go' 'round, baby.
Me: over 12,000 posts

You: not even 3,000 posts

:p
Yeah! Without us this forum would be DEAD! Dead dead dead! :D
My dear OB1, numbers matter not...each individual Goron post is hand-crafted with perfection and finesse...my posts, while less in number, are works of intellectucal mastery. So, you see...I am God. :p

I haven't talked about anything exploding in a long time and you know it! ASM on the other hand has posted several times recently about things "exploiding", which, if I am correct, is similar in some respects to exploding.

If you're really God how come you make so many spelling and grammer errors? :)
I love the PW games, they can frustrate the fuck out of you though. Hopefully this one will get in to more detailed and realistic surroundings and flight craft physics. Start us out with throwing paper airplanes off the grand canyon or a sky scraper... then we'll work our way up to F-16's WITH STEALTH CAPABILITIES OMG *****SHOCK AND AWE***** Imagine time shifts too, like suddenly, while flying over Germany, or is it France? Hmm... Luxomburg. Your plane turns in to a dog house. And then Jews love you.

*Oscar Schindler is walking home from the grocery store*

Oscar: I spent so much... what did I buy? Hmm... Butter... eggs... bread... juice... WHAT?? I had a coupon! I COULD HAVE SAVED MORE!
If you're really God how come you make so many spelling and grammer errors?

Maybe I'm spelling it right, and humanity has it right...afterall, I am God.
