That's right, it's Phantasy Star Online 3. Big surprise!

From GAF:

Quote:Phantasy Star Online Episode 3
To be shown at this year's Electronics Entertainment Expo, Sonic Team announced this morning that it is working on Phantasy Star Online Episode 3: C.A.R.D. Revolution for the Nintendo GameCube. Set in the hugely-popular Phantasy Star Online universe, C.A.R.D. Revolution introduces a new style of combat to the series. PSOE3 hopes to combine the excitement of collecting cards with team-based tactics and deck construction. After talking with folks in the lobby about cards, players can head to the planet's surface to duke it out with indigenous creatures. 'Cause, you see, PSOE3 continues the story arc from the first two installments in the series, just with a reworked combat system. Players take on the role of hunters once again as they scour the planet of Ragol. Online and offline play is included (another GC online game; broadband owners don't fret yet!), as are several multiplayer modes. We're gonna have more on this once E3 starts on the 14th, so stay tuned!

Second update:

Quote:First PSO Episode III screens!
Sonic Team has released three pictures from its GameCube online title, Phantasy Star Online Episode III. To make the record straight, this game is a sequel to Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II, not a spin-off of some sort. The battle system is just being redesigned to take advantage of deck construction and card collection. According to sources, PSOEIII, besides being compatible with online functions, will allow gamers to play over the GameCube's system link (ala Mario Kart: Double Dash), as well as take advantage of the LCD screen that was revealed with Phantasy Star Card Battle at the Electronics Entertainment Expo last year. This hasn't been confirmed by Sega yet, but you can expect the first details come E3 this year on May 14th. Enjoy the screens, and stay tuned for continuing updates.

You know, if they fix the shitty battle system (you can't run and attack at the same time) and bring this out for the X-Box (playing with the X-Box Live headset is a must) I just might get it.
Intresting... its hardly a surprise to see another PSO, but its still nice... its a solid action/rpg. Now if it didn't require paying I might have considered getting it...

Oh, and they better either release a GC keyboard controller here or a headset... because otherwise the X-Box one is obviously far better, with its headset...
Even if a keyboard came free with the game the X-Box headset is a million times better. Now you can actually call for help without having to drop your controller and type it out! But Sega could always release a headset for the Gamecube. I'd buy it!
The Graphics are good for a MMORPG
By the way does anyone know if the PS2 headphones work with any games other than SOCOM, cause they would be fun to use on Everquest or PSO if it ever comes out for PS2, and they would also be very usueful for FFXI
