You've simply been around for only a few months, we've had people come and go before, but our most active members are held in quite high regard (most of the time).

So if you want our respect, you'll have to earn it.

Because there's no reason NOT to have them. We don't have a
"smily limit", we can have as many as we want! Why get rid of them if there's no limit? Besides, I love Christmas and it's nice to have some specially for that occasion. It's like people complaining about a feature added to a game saying "it shouldn't have been added". You don't HAVE to use that feature, it's just an addition! Why get rid of it just because a lot of people don't like it? Maybe some people do, and it's EXTRA! Why NOT have it?

Then why not have more smilies? I mean... 44 isn't that many... :)
