WOAH!

Looked amazing!
I know right?

I wonder, Kid Icarus is actually an angel styled after the Icarus legend, and Palutena is an original goddess. I am curious as to how Medusa, lead Gorgon yes but otherwise just a run of the mill monster, became the ruler of the underworld. It'd be interesting if there was some story about that. I mean, the way I see it this Medusa after being utterly betrayed by the greek gods (I mean she was punished for being raped, that's pretty messed up), probably became so bitter that instead of just sitting around in a cave forever waiting for adventurers, she probably started a huge Kratos style vendetta against the gods, gaining power from each one she destroyed, leaving only Palutena to stop her before she destroyed the whole world in her anger.

Or maybe I'm over thinking this.

At any rate it's nice to have a setting loosely based on something besides Middle Earth. Ancient Greece is as good an era as any (though really Zelda 2 had a very Greek feel to it with all those building designs). It's also interesting that they're working the whole "melting wings" thing into game play.
I've never played any of the Kid Icarus/Pit games, but this one certainly looks spectacular, so maybe I'll give the series a look. Pit is awesome in Brawl.
The original Kid Icarus (and the Gameboy port) were basically like the original Metroid. The big difference is it's still cut into three main levels. The first "section" is a very long corridor (two leading straight up, one leading sideways), with a lot of special hidden doors with hidden items, challenges, and powerups. The second section is a huge dungeon crawl, and I do mean huge. Aside from bosses at the end of the 3 dungeons, there's lots of hazards, stores, and a wizard who's one spell turns you into an eggplant. Suddenly Captain N makes a little more sense to you.

Anyway, each of the 3 main sections rewards a legendary item, from a new bow, to wings that actually let you fly, to... I forget the last one. Well you know how a lot of old games are with gathering 3 legendary items.
