You can pay a penny or you can pay $100, whatever you feel like. An email gets sent to your email inbox that links to a page that lets you download all seven games. There's no DRM at all.
That is such an awful business model.

I guess you'd only use it if you'd otherwise call it 'freeware'.
Risky doesn't begin to describe it, but one thing's for sure, they'll have the fan's support.
Well they made $200,000 in a weekend. That's not a bad haul for a terrible business model, and the REAL goal, getting these names out there in the public dialog, has certainly been achieved. I measure this by the "mentioned on Penny Arcade" index, which they have achieved by a factor of 1.

It's mainly to raise money for charity, although you can specify how much of the payment goes to developers.
Guilt, making beggars rich since 10,000 BC
But, unlike with beggars, you actually get something REALLY COOL for donating.
Yeah, it's more like beggars who do a little dance for change. Now it's a job.
Eh; those games don't look too exciting. I could do a lot more with the money.
...A PENNY? You can LITERALLY pay a penny. You can do a lot more with a penny? Heck I got them, and I don't even know when I'll bother to install them.

And even though you can pay a penny, some people just want to be pirates JUST BECAUSE. Seriously you guys... what the hell?
^Even so, the games don't look exciting. They're just advanced models of freeware game that I can play any time I want.
Eh, to each their own. They looked pretty interesting to me. I really doubt your standard Flash game is up to the level of these though.
Holy krap, there's better games on Newsgrounds.
Aquaria and Penumbra are pretty cool games, well worth the $2.50 that I donated to charity. World of Goo and Gish are fun little games, though not necessarily anything great. Samorost is an update of free flash game, but also a really neat adventure game. I haven't tried Lugaru yet.
