Can't say I was really surprised, the project is extremely ambitious. So the speculation begins on what will actually be used for the PS3?

My guess is just an expansion on the principles of the PS3. Freedom of developement, high bandwidth/low memory, etc. etc. Just much more powerful. :)
I'm not suprised either, I never belived the cell technology would actually be ready for the next generation of consoles
Pulls his hair out.

"With this investment, SCEI will manufacture the new microprocessor for the broadband era, code-named “Cell”, as well as other system LSIs, to be used for the next generation computer entertainment system."

God damn conflicting reports.
Maybe it was a bit ambitious. Oh well, when that IS made all we need to do is create a massive army of robots that can combine themselves. What could be the harm in that? So long as they are programmed with limiters to prevent EVER thinking about their own existance, it won't matter how smart they get.
You and your robots.
Yeah I heard about that too. I never really thought PS3 would get that stuff.

Looks like Xbox 2 won't have to worry about that Cell technology then.
wtf, did people just ignore my second post?
I like Robots
Actually PH, I didn't even see your second post. I did now though, and read it. I checked the date, and it is less than a week ago that article was posted. Well, I trust an article at Sony's own site (a recent one at that) far more than 3rd party news sources. If this was a really old article at their site, then I'd doubt it, since we all know Nintendo.com's news is often outdated. But, this is more recent. Remember how IGN put it. They merely reported RUMORS are circling about an article where he said they MAY not be ready until 2007. In other words, there is a rumor that some unknown magazine REPORTED this, and that this magazine only reported a guy said it MIGHT not be ready in time.
