Damn it, Why do they block Canadians?
Pretty good stuff... :)

As for Lou Dobbs, he's kind of weird. I mean, mostly he's quite conservative, but he also complained a lot about how corporations have been using their power to hurt American workers, not something most conservatives care much about... maybe that's part of why he quit the Republican Party a few years back and became an independent. That and that Bush supported amnesty for illegal immigrants...

Since Obama came into office he's somewhat returned to form though, and he obsessed over the Obama birth certificate "issue" for months and months. That's pretty disgusting.

He did make immigration his signature issue, though of course. On that note, did you know that his wife is Hispanic? It's true... she's legal though, and also conservative, so it does make a little sense -- legal immigrants don't always like the illegals, they wait years for the right to come to the US, but the illegals cut in line and sneak in, and then expect amnesty. When you look at it that way it does seem unfair... but you can't just kick them all out or something, obviously, and many of them are doing jobs no Americans, native-born or legal immigrant, want to do, so yeah.

Anyway, since quitting CNN he's said he has an interest in running for either President (2012) or Senate (2010, New Jersey, because that's where he lives), and has said some entertaining stuff since then. He said something like 'only the far left is behind the 'Lou Dobbs hates Hispanics' thing and that other people know it's not true', and that he's 'considering supporting legalization' or something like that, even though for years now he's strongly opposed it. Um, yeah. I wonder what he does next.

He should know that flip flopping cost John Kerry an election against an incumbent president with a historically low approval rating (though I suppose Bush's rating wasn't that low by 2004). I wonder, will he run on the Republican ticket or will he "go rogue" with Sarah Palin? :)
That's true, his hardcore anti-immigrant base DEFINITELY wouldn't be happy if he keeps on that line... but with how much he's alienated most other people, I don't know how far he'll go there either. Of course if he runs as a third party candidate he'll almost certainly lose, and it makes sense because politicians always run to the center while trying to get elected (you run to the edge to appeal to the base to win the primary, then run to the center immediately afterwards to try to actually get elected), but still, yeah, it doesn't look good, that's for sure... and you're absolutely right that a lot of his fans will not exactly be thrilled to hear it. So yeah, it'll be interesting to see what he says...
