Who would have thought Trek would be King of the Box office? I think they definitely succeeded in reaching their goal of attracting new fans.

All they really need to do in the follow up to Trek , Is have a good character driven story with a coherent plot and get their science right, No Beastie boys!! If they have contemporary music use the Beatles or the stones in line with the 60's theme.

Terminator never reached number one, Its still being pistol whipped by Trek.

I hope that the studio takes account of this, If they make another Terminator Film, Get a good director and drop Bale he cost to much.
They probably had to bribe Bale to keep him from walking off the set after someone SCREWED WITH THE FUCKING LIGHTS! :cuss:
Lol

... Seriously though, 100 million isn't too bad. Hopefully it makes enough that they do another one.

Star Trek... it needs a message, really. I mean, I enjoyed it, but...

Of course, with the huge amounts of money it's made, I wouldn't bet on them changing much at all about it, unfortunately. I guess the new "Action Star Trek" is more popular than the older, a bit more thoughtful variety...
Drag Me To Hell is god damn hilarious and Sam Raimi is a genius at directing horror movies that make you squirm and laugh all at once. My face and stomach hurt by the end of the movie from guffawing like a donkey. Not sure how many other horror movie fans are here, but what they say is true - Raimi's back in his element and doing what he does best with Drag Me To Hell, instead of making unintentionally (I think?) hilarious Spiderman movies. I think a good description of the humor came from a review I read from someone who saw an advance screening who said that with all the slapstick abuse the main character goes through, you can practically hear Raimi cackling behind the camera.

I thought the acting from the leads Alison Lohman and Justin Long were a bit weak, but it seems a lot of people disagree with me (from reading other messageboards). Also, while I'm generally not scared of movies and never expect them to make me unsettled, the person I saw this with got creeped out by the gypsy lady. It doesn't rely on gimmicks or cliches, aside from perhaps a couple jump-scares. I recommend this 100% to any horror movie fan or anyone with a dark sense of humor in general.

Also, Up is excellent and Pixar hasn't lost their shine one bit. They're easily the best animation studio out there today. Go see it, it can be appreciated by all ages, despite the gimmicky talking dogs that were probably thrown in to help attract the kiddies. One area where Pixar excels is creating movies that can be appreciated by all ages. One caveat, though - the first 15 minutes are heart-wrenching. My girlfriend told me she was crying when she saw it with me, and I didn't notice her because I was too busy getting choked up myself, which is really rare for me when seeing a movie.
I really need to see Up, Pixar is always great for sure...

Yeah, I definitely need to see Up. The only CGI movies I go to see anymore are the ones Pixar makes.
